Thankfully no one is around to see me getting man handled by an Immortal. “He killed his family. He will be better off dead, in a place where he can’t hurt anymore. I know an abandoned house you can wait in until Chase wakes. Unless of course, you want Ren to come back to life and come for you both?” Fate says. He leans in so close, I can feel his breath against me, hear the firmness of his tone. I don’t like my options. But I know which one I like the best. Fate keeps his word and brings Chase to an abandoned building he knows of, dumping him onto a couch before taking off to deal with Ren. I try not to think about what he is going to do to him.

I really did go back in time where I was still a baby; I wonder how many months I have. Everything looks just the way it looked before when I was young. Let’s sort out the situation. I am still a baby, so I can’t do anything besides watching them move around me. Even if I returned to the past, that means the problems that will happen will still happen, except if I interfered maybe I could change our fate and protect my family. I can’t talk so I can’t say that I am happy to see them. I am glad. I’ll explode from joy. Since I know the future, I will try to change my destiny myself.

FREYA’S POV Starting a fire was never one of my strongest suits, but if the fire had already been lit—who was I to reject the will of the Moon Goddess? In life, we are all casualties of fate, or destiny as some would say—but there are some of us who take destiny head-on. Some even dare to fight back. I was daring. “Greetings…” I said softly, lifting my gaze to Killian. His expression was more conflicted than usual. Lately, his face had grown increasingly unreadable but I wasn’t here for him.

It was also because what she stole had always been my destiny to begin with. I looked up at him and smiled lightly. "Then how do you plan to make it up to me?" Jonah curved his lips and pulled me into his arms. "With a lifetime. Is that enough?" Jonah gave me a grand wedding. The moment he held my hand was the first time since my rebirth that I truly felt alive. On the wedding day, I saw my parents. Their eyes were red as they reached out with trembling hands, trying to grab mine. My gaze, however, was cold.

I said in a voice that even I didn’t recognize. Aunt Nikki stared at me with such calmness that I felt embarrassed about what I had just done. I sat down and dragged my fingers on my hair as frustration swallowed me whole. “I’m sorry,” I said unable to look at her after what I did to her. “I understand,” she said as she squeezed my knee. “But Mikey, Fate is something you are born with. No one can change that not even you. You make yourself believe that you can change it and even try all possible ways that you can think of just to change it only to realize in the end that you did not escape it at all and that you just took the longest and hardest route possible.”

In despair, I leaped from the rooftop. To my surprise, fate presented me with another chance. This time, I would rewrite my ending.

I held his pants and resumed the undressing but then I wasn’t rushing anymore. I couldn’t. Not while I knew what was down there. I could already see the outline. And I couldn’t believe it. It was… Fate must be toiling with me. Fate has always sent misfortune my way, scourging me with pain, heartbreak, and torment, and then out of nowhere I’m suddenly fated to a mate who happens to be the sexiest male alive. And he’s mine. Isn’t it crazy? How is it even possible?

An endless void. Then, a voice. "Do you wish to change your fate?" I turned sharply, but there was no one. "Do you wish to bring him back?" My chest tightened. "Yes," I whispered. "More than anything." A soft glow appeared, swirling like mist. From the haze, a woman emerged, her form wrapped in flowing robes. Her face was hidden, but I felt her gaze on me. "Fate is cruel," she said. "But it can be rewritten. Are you willing to pay the price?"
