Needless to say, that Alpha, was having it worse than the rest. Lucian Dannelly, my dear father-in-law has been going out most nights. He's close to the king, so he has been going often to visit him, and helping him keep order in the dungeons. My father-in-law has been retired since Ricky took over. But he can still throw a mean punch if needed.

“That is because I don’t know whom to believe. See, I need to know what is my future here? Am I to stay or to leave? Why is Ruth here?” Marcus exhaled through his nose. “Look, your position here won’t change. You won’t be asked to leave this pack and if you want to know, the previous brides weren’t even touched by Alpha Isaac. And Ruth is…” he trailed off, clearly reluctant. “Alpha might be able to tell you about her.” I chuckled bitterly. “Like he will.”

I’m suddenly okay with it. I just met Brock, but I can already tell that he’s the strong silent type. I try to make conversation on the ride over to Riverton, but all he gives me in return are grunts and one-word answers. It doesn’t bother me, though- we don’t really know each other yet, and I’m sure he’ll warm up eventually. I’ll just kill him with kindness until he does.

RUBIN'S ROOM Rubin chuckled softly, turning back to his laptop with his back facing her, "Stop spilling rubbish, Laura", he mumbled, typing something on his machine. "Who says I don't smile, I'm not a non-living thing or something of that sort. I'm human so I definitely smile". He glanced back at Laura who had her eyes fixed on him with a sardonic, mischievous smile.

I ask Luke because I’m so certain that we have met before. Luke bursts into laughing. Why is he laughing at me? Did I say something funny? “And why is a high school kid asking me if we have met before?” Luke asks me ironically. There’s no need to be rude. I just want to know who he is. Is he so important that I cannot ask who he is? “Ignore him. My father owns the biggest ranch, and my family runs it. We sell organic beef and other stuff. Even livestock.” Justin explains to me.

Uncle Bob scolded him. It was Eleanor’s turn to send him a mocking smirk too. She escaped being caught by uncle Bob anyways. Their dad said the grace after which they all feasted on their meal quietly. Uncle Bob was the first to finish. He grabbed some mouth wipes and wiped his mouth. He worked his throat back and forth for a little while. Eleanor knew that moment he had something serious to say. Typical uncle Bob. “I heard you visited your friend yesterday…” he started, picking his teeth carefully as he spoke. One word at a time with a deadly calmness.

He decided to ask Ruben about it. “As for President of the RK Group, Rene Kingston. He is indeed my younger brother. I haven’t been in everyone’s line of sight recently because I have been working in the RK Group recently.” Ruben’s words caused a heated discussion among the reporters. They didn’t believe that RK and Ruben were brothers.

Consequently, when the ban came into effect
