Roland’s voice cracked through the air, low but trembling. He stood on the far side of the room, bracing himself against the wall as though he needed support to stay upright. His eyes quivered as he locked them on Lennon, a storm of emotion behind them.
Roland forced a tight grimace. “Tell me, Alpha,” he said, his voice shaking. “That wasn’t true, was it?”
Lennon closed his eyes for a moment, took a slow breath in and exhaled softly. “Roland,” he murmured gently. “You weren't supposed to hear any of that.”
