The Blood Mirror let out a piercing hum. The entire catacomb trembled. Cracks spiderwebbed across the ancient stone pillars. The candles flickered wildly, casting eerie shadows. "Impossible..." The elder backed away, shaking. "The mirror is moving on its own? This breaks all the ancient laws..." But the mirror was beyond anyone's control now. It ruthlessly drained my very last drops of blood. The crimson light was blinding. I could feel the last bit of warmth leaving my body, but at the same time, a twisted sense of satisfaction washed over me.

Every tree, every rock, every gust of wind seemed to whisper of dangers lurking just beyond the horizon. Lia’s wrist-mark had been flaring with more intensity over the past few days, the power within her growing stronger, and yet more volatile. The strange "Mirror Soul" ability—this gift, or curse—was becoming harder to control. Every time she replicated magic, it drained her energy, leaving her weak and vulnerable. But she couldn’t stop. “A protective seal — but broken, meaning it’s been broken or disrupted. It suggests something was hidden behind the mirror.” My mind raced. My breath hitched as I pressed it. With a soft click, the mirror swung open like a door, revealing a narrow, dark space behind. A rush of stale, cold air escaped as I peered inside.

Rori didn’t recognize the building they were in, but as she approached the mirror the giant flit once again whispered small encouragements in her ear and Rori reached out with trembling fingers to touch the surface of the now shimmering clean glass. She saw that there was a door beside the wall wardrobe, about a few inches away from it. She sauntered to it, curious what lies behind the mysterious door and she squinted her eyes, lifting her free arm to cover them because of the gloriously gleaming treasures hidden behind the door.
