Pretty sure he didn’t understand shit I just said, but he didn't argue. He pulled his helmet out of his bag, slipped it over his unruly black hair, and snapped the chin strap shut. The dark tint of the visor hid his eyes entirely, which made me feel significantly more comfortable.
"Maya?," I said.
"On it. Sequence live," Maya murmured, tapping her keyboard. "Sensors are calibrated."
I took a black hockey puck, slapped an orange sensor onto the center of it, and stood exactly four feet a
