The pack understood. Aura stood beside me as we watched the pack take off into the forest. One by one, they came back carrying rabbits, deer, and many other catches. Aura bowed her head as she thanked each one for their gift. The pack chefs took them to use. When the last couple of wolves returned, Aura stood in front of everyone, "Thank you, my pack." Everyone cheered and howled thanking her for the honor.

Furah took me to her. Furah turned me towards herself and put her hands on her chest. “Furah. Fu… rah. Furah.” “Furah...” I said after her. Furah nodded and smiled. She then turned me towards the lady and pointed to her. “Ga...mu. Gamu.” I smiled because I understood her finally. “Gamu.” I said looking at Gamu. Both Furah and Gamu nodded looking at me. Then Furah put her hand on my chest and looked at me with question in her eyes. I understood her question, but I did not know the answer to her question. I put my hand over hers and shrugged.

Alfi exclaimed upset. Their swords are hitting each other. Purple Iru and red Iru are bursting out from their swords. Those Iru are glowing brightly. “Arrrgghhhh!” Varz shouted. “Arrrrgghhh!” Arz shouted. “What’s with the shouting? I guess moaning is better.” Alfi said. “Agreed!” Mitsuha approved. Suddenly, Alfi is struck by thunder again. Alfi got burned again that he can emit black smoke from his mouth.

This made me scared. "Please, who are you?" I asked in the most polite way possible. I did not want to annoy the woman; she was unbalanced. "Ah, finally asking me the right question." She said, smiling. She cleared her throat, I knew it was all an act, but nonetheless, it made me more attentive. "I am Ruhun Daji, and my name is Kurwa, the spirit of nature, good fortune, bliss and wellness."

Now she understood why Ryu was able to walk so easily through difficult terrain yesterday. “I prefer deer, but unfortunately, there was just this one.” Ryu stood up again to check the cooking. “There are no deer in Hokkaido,” Kyoko interjected. “I know. That's why I'm forced to accept this. There’s still a bonus of soft fur for a scarf outside.” Ryu pointed to the rabbit skin he had hung outside. Kyoko frowned. All this time, she thought Ryu was very calm, unlike Kenji, who would unhesitatingly strike down anyone. But it seemed there was a dark side to Ryu that wasn’t visible.

I glance back and see several warriors joining us, their eyes alert, protective. “Alpha said a few extra warriors should escort us back. Just in case.” Fury gives me a small grin and shrugs off his jacket. “Now be reasonable and climb on—” He stops when I don’t move. I just stand there watching him as he shifts. Bones crack, limbs stretch, and within seconds, Fury’s wolf stands before me—thick, dark grey fur, almost black, with kind, familiar eyes. He wiggles his tail slightly, motioning me forward.

I tell her. “Give me my mate,” Malcolm growls. Qadira shifts, right there in the ocean, looking like the goddess she is. Her bear isn't white, which is another reason we didn't know right away that her bear was a polar bear. Her fur, like the rest of her, is a blend of bear and wolf. Unlike most wolves whose fur is the same color as their human's hair, Qadira's fur is a lighter brown that Hope's hair, a cross between the white of her bear and the brown of her wolf.

The morning sun poured in through the kitchen windows, painting the stone floor with a warm golden glow. I stood at the counter, the knife in my hand slicing figs with slow, deliberate motions. The air felt soft, the silence broken only by the occasional giggle and shout from the garden, where Hope was chasing Ethan. She wielded a makeshift fairy wand a stick wrapped in a ribbon and her laughter was pure and unrestrained, a melody I could never tire of.
