Before the man could finish speaking, his body flew backward. The ragdoll snapped its leg back from the kick as easily as if it had only swatted a fly. I stared in shock. Since when had the ragdoll become this strong? The man's face twisted in disbelief. A tiny doll had just sent him flying. "I'm gonna kill you!" But before he could even recover, he was launched again. This time, he hit the ground harder. His face smashed into the dirt, blood running freely. He couldn't even stand.

The impact slammed Drogo down into a boulder and one could hear a sickening crack when his body crashed against the rock. “No…” More blood came out from his mouth as his eyes began to shut down. He could not believe he had been defeated by Zephyr and his faith in the levelling category had been shaken. There was no way that Zephyr was only a Strength of level nine! When he saw Zephyr, his pupils became a near slit, as if he had just seen a ghost. “Agility… You’ve broken through to the Agility level!” said Drogo. Did he really just break through two levels to become an Agility of level two? How was this possible? A few days ago he was still at a Strength of level nine!?

I turned into it instead of away. The move cost me the first half second where my left flank made contact. Claws across muscle that burned immediately but turning in meant I had the angle and the rogue committed its body weight in a direction that no longer has a target at the end of it. I caught its leg as it passed and pulled it. The rogue went down sideways. The stone floor meeting the ribs. It rolled and came back up fast. Faster than ordinary rogues recovered. Something in the ancient rogue physiology that was altered by years of Veil Forest.

The rogue snapped at his shoulder; Aiden twisted, teeth closing on the other’s scruff, using momentum more than brute strength to sling him sideways. Something in his movement was off—just a fraction, a tiny hitch where his left side didn’t quite keep up. Lyra saw it like a glowing outline overlaid on reality. The subtle misalignment she’d left in his nerves made his shift stutter at the edges: skin and fur flickering, bones trying to decide which configuration to hold. He fought through it. Another rogue lunged at his blind side. Aiden pivoted, slower than he would have been before, but still fast enough to catch the attack with his forearm. Claws raked his bicep; blood sprayed.

The roots caught Rag's leg and raised him upside down and held him for the last five minutes while he is trying to move and obviously cursing. "You ******" Rag wanted to fight it bare hand. Overconfidence? Obviously!!! Rag suddenly bit his finger and a small drop of blood fell down on the rock. The blood started increasing as more drops by itself, and soon it was formed as a skeleton! What the hell???? This is the first time I have seen something like this. His blood... Not just that, but a single drop of blood was turned into a group of blood skeletons. The skeletons freed Rag and attacked the monster all at once, and Rag won the match.

I needed him to think I was the most pathetic, useless creature in the entire building. I let out a piercing, ragged sob. I went completely limp against his grip, collapsing my knees slightly so he had to hold my weight. I curled my fingers inward, pressing the flat metal of the card tight against my palm, using the dark fabric of my dress to mask the bulky shape.
