Ashes of Love; Fire of Vengeance
I slide one hand to the back of her neck, my palm warm against her trembling skin.
“They know everything about me… my weaknesses, my strengths,” I continue, my thumb tracing her jawline, “and while I’ve been chasing revenge for my mother, I stepped into a much larger trap without even realising it.”
Her lips part, but no sound escapes, only a soft, broken exhale. I tilt her chin up gently, forcing her to meet my eyes again.
“I just need time to clear this mess,” I whisper, pressing my forehead against hers. “Then I’ll come back for you, for our child. We’ll build our family far away from all of this, nothing will ever touch us again.”
