So did Sasha Lin, Jace’s PR manager. She looked like she hadn’t slept, which she hadn’t, and cursed all the way into the living room.

“That woman is a violent criminal. She slapped me, humiliated me in front of everyone, and tried to kill me. Look at my dress! Look at my hair! She ruined me!” Ken jumped in, nodding furiously. “Yes, yes! I saw it all! Arrest her immediately, she’s dangerous...” But the lead officer barely glanced at him. He turned to me instead. “Are you Mrs. Kelly?” I gave a simple nod. The officer then turned to Rhea. “Miss Rhea?” “Yes! Finally!” she snapped, lifting her chin like she was about to receive an award. She even smoothed her filthy dress, ready to pose for sympathy pictures.

Cole I leaned back in my office chair and sighed, setting aside one of the files. It had been a long morning… meetings, calls, reports. I was halfway through reading a report when a firm knock sounded at the door. “Come in,” I said, not looking up. “Cole.” I looked up and nodded. “Xavier. What is it?” He closed the door behind him and walked toward my desk. “There’s a little issue at the new construction site in Riverdale,” he began. “The indigenes living near the site are protesting again. They’re saying our work is affecting their water source and farmland.”

The killer’s identity is currently unknown, though authorities insist they have several leads that they are following. Bull. Shit. They had ‘several leads’ on the Preying Mantis case, also, but none of them went by the name of Sarah Killian. They just always have to say that they have several leads, so that it looks like they are in control of the situation. Also, I suspect they hope it will make the killer nervous, so he’ll make a stupid mistake. I suppose that kind of tactic works on a lot of serial killers, but not the kind who end up working for THEM—which is why, I guess, there’s only thirteen of us.

It felt more like he was scared of something Killian might have known… As soon as the lecture ended, Killian was swallowed by a crowd of businessmen eager to talk to Blair Digital's CEO, while I used that moment to find a quiet corner and do a little bit of research on Ryder Phillips.
