You didn’t have my back then, you don’t have my back now.” She slammed the brakes and turned to look at me. “Logan, that's not true and you know it.” “I know having my mom in my corner would be nice. ‘Who needs enemies’ right?” By now tears were streaming down her face but I couldn’t care less. She’d always hounded me about the same thing regardless of how many times I expressed my opinions. It’s almost like she felt I was going through a phase and her constant badgering would snap me out of it.

Me. “Listen up!” I began loudly, my wolf coming to the forefront “The false king has brought the fight to us! Right now they are attacking our castle, right now they believe they are better than you!” I raise my hand pointing to the crowd of rogues before me, “the very same people who cast you out because you didn’t conform to their rules! The very same people who think of you as nothing but the rogues and filth you are!” I pause as the murmurs begin.

Trial Three: The Crest Battle As twilight bled over the Celestium, the final arena unfolded, an enormous, rune-carved field surrounded by floating banners and arcs of lightning. The last challenge: The Crest Battle, a strategic combat where each Castle defended their magical emblem while attempting to claim the others’. “Defend your Crest,” the Headmaster’s voice rang out, magnified through the crystal towers. “Take the others if you can. Victory belongs to the last Crest standing!” The moment the horn blew, chaos erupted.

Theo yelled, as the rest of the guys clapped and cheered, while Lucien leaned back with a proud smirk on his face as he regarded me. With this fina round, if I won, I would mop the floors with Roxanne, and Matt. It would be heaven to eat my dinner, on their shatterred ego. The final round: came about, and it was the one field I was lacking in; Mental combat. A debate. Roxanne would be patricipating in this round, a feat she pushed for with a smug smirk on her face. Probably because she though t she would win over me; afterall, the entire school k new how bad I was at the damn thing.

Maveth bellowed furiously, “We haven’t even settled the rules yet. How can you guys claim the halos while we’re still discussing?!” James sensed the increase in his strength and replied with a faint smile, “We’ve already decided that we’re having a battle royale. What other rules do we need?”

Plus one vampire observer. The Battle of the Rookeries is about to begin.

Zoe's dashed to save me! “What? You're defending this freak instead of me?!” a flare of hell-fire comes out of Courtney. “No, it's not that! But lately, I've been playing Battle Royale—is that what it's called? I've been trying it out, and there's a lot of depth to it! You should try it too, Cortty!” “What? Are you trying to change the subject?”

Her fist landed against the wall and the stench of her blood quickly filled my senses to the point that it made me feel physically sick. "You can't blame me for the fact your mate was stupid enough to get into a fight with a bunch of rogues. That was his decision. It's not like I held a gun to his head and demanded that he fight with them," I sniped back at her. I knew that they wanted to find Jayson and that they were losing hope of him ever returning but picking a fight with a bunch of rogues was never going to pay off.

Seeing him like that reminds me of the night I saw him in a bathrobe and heat rushes to my face. The sun blazes overhead as Rowan’s commanding voice slices through the chatter. “The one-on-one battles begin from today. Our focus is on weapons this week, so the battle pairs will use special weapons to fight each other.” His gaze sweeps over all of us, observing everyone as if he’s calculating something. He claps his hands together. “Alright, let the battle begin.” Everyone cheers in excitement. Some raise their fists in the air. Despite my nerves getting the best of me, I feel a smile tug at the edge of my lips.

“Bad management and unoriginal dialogue. You guys really need HR.” They lunged. --- The Roast Fight Wolf #1: lunged straight at my throat, sloppy. I ducked, stabbed his ear. He howled. “Oh nooo, your ear modeling career is ruined! Guess you’ll never be on the cover of Pointy Ears Weekly.” Wolf #2: came low for my legs. I kicked him in the jaw, teeth clacked. “Ouch! Somebody’s gonna need dentures. Good luck explaining that to your wolf dentist—oh wait, you don’t have one.”
