Someone chuckled darkly, a solemn nod going about the room. It had my curiosity entranced as each generation started to describe the slow decline of the Great Pack, as they called it; all Rogues connected to the king under one banner. What was even more surprising was the casual mention throughout of the Royals being Lycans. No one in the room batted an eye at it, just accepted it like truth and enjoyed the stories. “Constable, I hate to interrupt; but are you saying all Royals for England were Lycans?” I had to know, a few cops snickering at the question, but Constable Myra just smiled and nodded her head.

He felt sorry for him, even though both packs haven’t been on the best terms for years now. Roy climbed out of his car, when he arrived home. Staring at his house, he imagined a beautiful breathtaking woman walk out of the house to welcome him home with a kiss, while his two pups would run to him, both trying to outrun the other to be the first to give him a welcome hug. He smiled at the fantasy. This wasn’t the first time he had imagined this sort of thing. He has held on to those images for years now, but in the end it was nothing more than a fantasy.

I was counting on it almost working. Close enough to cause chaos. Close enough to create a crack. Cracks were all I needed. Roy lit a cigarette and sucked on it like it was revenge. “You know,” he said, smoke leaking through his grin, “I’ve seen women cry before. Beg. Piss themselves. You? You’re just sittin’ there like some kinda ice queen. Not even scared.” “Not of you,” I said evenly. He snorted. “Zach’s right. You got a mouth on you. Bet it’s real sweet when you’re not biting.”

“What do you mean?” “I mean this from a place of love, but you seem to have a jaded... rosy image of the royals in your head. I can tell you’re a book lover. When I think of you, my biggest fear is that you will take this rosy picture of the royals to your heart, and you will never see them coming for who they truly are. Not until it’s too late.” “I don’t have a rosy picture of the royals.” “Just the prince then?”

Royal's POV I glanced around my room, trying to make sense of the interruption. Everything appeared unchanged, and yet, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had glimpsed something profound. The remnants of the otherworldly realm clung to my consciousness like gossamer threads, just beyond my grasp. Rico appeared at the door, concern etched across his face. "Royal, are you alright?" he asked, stepping into the room. I nodded, trying to steady my breath. "I'm fine, but something strange happened during my meditation. I felt like I was on the verge of a significant revelation, and then it all just vanished."

What if I never see the sun or the sky again? I like to think that I know how these royals act. They think they own the world and every damn soul in it, they like to have their way and have everyone dance to their tunes. In as much as I am intrigued by the prince and it’s still totally unbelievable that he is my second chance mate, I am scared for what he may do to me. I would be his slave, his property and I would have no say whatsoever.

With a swift snap of my fingers, a luxurious fur-lined cloak appeared, and I carefully wrapped it around her shoulders, fastening it at the neckline. Roxy's crazy curls spilled out from beneath the cloak as she smiled her thanks. In that moment, she looked breathtakingly beautiful, like a dark ice princess risen from the frozen depths. Her beauty was mesmerizing, and I felt my heart swell with pride. The shy Cryomancer led us to the dining hall, where River awaited. As soon as his eyes landed on Roxy, his expression faltered, and a flicker of surprise crossed his face.

For a moment, nothing happened. Then the stone exploded with light. Red energy shot through Rosemary's body, lifting her off the ground. She gasped but didn't scream, even though Austin could feel her pain through their bond. The red energy formed shapes in the air around the platform. Images. Memories stored in the stone. Everyone watched in awe as the history of the royal family played out like a movie. They saw King Aldric in his prime, strong and just, ruling with wisdom. They saw Queen Lyanna beside him, her power complementing his perfectly. They saw the three princesses—Aurora, Stella, and little Elena—playing in the royal gardens.

I could feel my mother’s stare lingering, heavy even as she continued giving instructions. “Why can’t I go to the Royal Academy like him? I don’t want Zakar’s choice as mine, Mother!” I snapped, pacing toward the bed, fists curling at my sides. “This alliance is needed, especially when you are king soon,” she said, voice tight but firm. “That’s the same thing you said to Zakar, but…” I hissed, teeth gritted, jaw aching, nails digging into my palms. She leaned down and kissed my cheek. “I’ll leave you to get ready,” she whispered, stepping out as the maids rolled the bags behind her. The door clicked shut, her heels and the low rumble of wheels echoing down the stairs until the sound faded in

With that I walk out of the building with my head held high, but my whole heart and mind in jeopardy. I sat inside the car not able to move, staring at the IPad I took from his room. The picture of both Umma and Abba face me back. Beside it, I think is a family portrait with both their younger selves, and their family which I've never seen before. "What is the real identify of our future Queen" that's the words that where boldly written across. There is another picture that capture my attention, a young woman who seems to be just my age and looks exactly like me and most importantly she is wearing my bracelet.
