Why was I so cursed? I didn’t have time to contemplate this any further. Instead, I did what I did best. I ran. I ran back to our condo and began to pack whatever I could of mine before he had the chance to throw me out and reject me in front of everyone. I knew some rogues took up refuge in the northern mountains. There were stories that they would take in the lost women. Rogue women and, while not the greatest idea, would become breeders for their packs. But they were revered, not mistreated like others had treated their mates, fated or chosen. It took me a couple of hours to finally gain the strength to leave. I wrote a note to Antony thanking him for being there and standing up for me. T

But I promised that I would take her to see her family. Javier drops his defensive stance, responding, “I’m sorry man, it’s just bizarre that you didn’t know..” He looks apologetic. Then explains. “And a Rogue is a wild stray wolf, basically. They don’t have any leader or pack, and most don’t want one. They cause chaos wherever they go and are vicious killers. Ripping people who get in their way to shreds literally! They stank too.” And lil Shawn exclaims, “Yeah, they smell like garbage truck juice!”

I need to get away from here. ‘We don’t know anywhere in this kingdom. It’s so big, and we’ve been running without seeing its borders. I don’t want them to think of us as rogues.’ ‘A rogue?’ I asked. ‘What’s that?’ ‘A rogue is a wolf without a pack, and they are killed on the spot.’ ‘What! Really!’ ‘Yes. Since you know this, we should go back.’ I didn’t want to live like this anymore. I wanted to escape from him. Why was everything working against me? Why was the moon goddess so wicked to me?

The bigger of the two Rogues spoke, licking his lips watching me slowly back up. "I would watch how you speak to our future Queen." Nate said through gritted teeth. He wanted to rip the man’s throat out for even implying he would touch me. "Now, now, little alpha boy, the three of you are no match for us, but if you like to give it a go then come on then." The man taunted, waving them to come fight him. His partner chuckled next to him. They were consider Rogues by the kingdom standards, but not by the goddess. A true Rogue was a lone wolf with no pack that lost his humanity. I could tell these wolves belonged to no pack, but they weren't feral.

“And of course, you don’t want to mark me because you don’t want to take your throne back.” “I don’t know what I want to do yet. I have no support. No army. It’s not that easy.” “What about these rogues Monty spoke about? What is a rogue anyway?” “A rogue is a packless wolf. It’s not that easy. Rogues aren’t warriors. By the time I have them trained and ready for a war, Caspian would know and we’d all be dead. Well, not you and me…we’d only wish we were dead.”

It might not be necessary to shift, and it will be much easier to fight if I’m not wearing a dress. As soon as I’m dressed, I step outside and immediately hear a snarl. I turn to the left and there is a brown rogue wolf stalking towards me. You can always identify the rogues because they look mangey and deranged, like a dog who’s been abused and beaten. His fur is filthy, with a few patches missing, and he smells like vulture vomit. The combination of death and decay mixed with the burning, acidic scent of vomit is the worst possible combination.

I wasn’t trying to get too close so I stayed where I was. “Human..” He said in a creepy way and ran his tongue over his lips. From what I know, rogues are cursed wolves and they do not have special abilities equivalent to actual wolves but are equally dangerous.. but good thing about them.. you don’t need silver to kill them. “Do you have some?” I asked since he wasn’t saying anything but looking at me like a prey. My heart beat loudly for a moment there but I had to keep my composure and focus.

I deserve answers," I said. Sean looked over at Stephen, who nodded at him to tell me. "Okay, your parents were not murdered by bears. The policeman that told you that was a Rogue," Sean said "What's a Rogue?" I asked "A Rogue is a wolf without a Pack. They live alone. They normally did something bad to get kicked out of their Pack, like kill someone or betray their Alpha," Sean said "Why would a Rogue tell Jenn and me that our parents were killed in an animal attack?" I asked

A familiar but disgusting scent reached my nose as well, trying to overpower that of Calla. I knew who they were. “Rogues.” My beast roared inwardly, seeking bloodshed but I had to pry silently, then attack them unexpectedly. Rogues are wolves that have been banished from a pack and now roams freely. Rogues are widely despised because they are seen as outcasts, people who had betrayed the pack as a whole. Their presence wasn't welcome anywhere. The rogues at that point in time weren't my main problem, my eyes keenly scanned the area where her scent lingered heavily.
