Romance Cliches Novels & Stories

The young woman sitting by me stopped her game and watched me rant in astonishment. When I ran out of angry words, she clapped her hands in succession, and it echoed in the silence. "Well said, Princess, but I think someone lied to you, just like they lied to some of them over there," she said, pointing to a point in the room's corner. "Over there in the blue dress is Princess Kit of the Blue Brook Pack. She was given away as an alliance gift to the Lycan King and found herself as a slave here the very next day. Following her is Princess Yvette from the distant pack region of the werecats. She was told that she was to be matched with the Lycan Prince. She has not gotten over the deceit that

How I met him was quite a meet-cute, never have I been in a relationship this passionate. He was everything and supported me, he gave me all I ever asked for. Since I first met him at the club, where I turned from a waitress to a striper, he had always hovered around me. He made me felt special, I could see his love for me in his eyes. We never had any problems, just small irrelevant arguments. I have been dreaming about the day he would propose to me, to be sincere, I have never been this patient in my life.

“I’m even better than you.” “Ah really?” I grinned as I pulled her up with force – but this playful tease turned into a heart stopping situation! A romcom cliché! “H-Heiji!!!” She squealed in surprise when our bodies collied. In a split of seconds, we found ourselves wrapped on each other’s arms…

The car was silent for almost a minute before Anthony started to speak. “The fourth rule shall be; us displaying public affection but being ourselves in private.” “PDAs? Like what?” “Hugging, holding hands, and kissing.” I almost choked on my spit at the last thing he said. He wanted to actually do romantic things in public, with me. “K-kissing?” Anthony nodded with a look as if I was supposed to know about the rule. “We will need to do those things in public to deceive people. People on social media are smart, babe. They can sense bullshit from just posting one word. I said this before, Sandy. So, yes. The fourth rule will be; romance in public, friendship in private.”

I’m not sure if they were included. No. No sexy time. You will not think about it. No sex. No thoughts of romance and rose petals. Romance is officially dead. I guess I’ve started associating romance solely with love and being in love, not this temp stuff where you have nice gestures but without the “I love yous.” I mean, that’s what it is, right? It’s supposed to mean something. Not just something to manipulate. Not something to use and discard. Stop that! I hiss at myself. I can't think of what to say now, distracted by the scratchiness of Blake’s stubble on my cheek and by the scent of his delicious cologne. Maybe I shouldn’t say anything. I’m bound to make this awkward.

So, she chooses to be with the second love interest, the one who has always loved her, instead. "But once he has her, the guy would stop cherishing the protagonist. Some even go so far as to say they'd die for her. Yet, after getting together with her, they still betray her. "As society progresses, the plots of these novels become more and more realistic. All that deep affection and unwavering devotion are idealized in romance novels. In real life, there's no such thing as true love. There's also no such thing as a perfectly devoted second love interest."

“Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me this was all on the hood of his car??“ Her smile somehow gets even bigger at the mental image. “Oh my GOD. This really is a cliche romance story. You guys are so goddamn cute it's almost gross.“ “I— I,I love him”,i squeal She shakes me slightly, her grin splitting her face in half. “I KNEW IT. I KNEEEEW YOU LOVED HIM! You're both idiots—but at least he finally got his head out of his ass.Oh my God, you guys are endgame. Like, for real. Wedding invite better have my name first.“

He smirked, "It is called accepting reality, you should try it some try." "I believe that love exists. Yes, the romance novels sell it way too beautiful, it becomes far-fetched and the movies heap cliche lines that are supposed to make you cry, it feels exaggerated. But I do believe that somewhere, two lovers' eyes meet and they can plainly see the love in them," She shrugged, "It isn't perfect, convenient but it doesn't have to be. They might have bills and work four jobs but in that briefest second when they hold each other, their body flushed against the other they remember why they were worth it, why they will pick the life they had a million times."

“Definitely not romance! Romance is limitless.” Zander shook his head once again. “I believe it gets cringe really fast, that’s why movies or stories centered on just romance tend to bore me out really fast.” “I think that’s because you’re a hater of that genre, because no sane person should ever tire of romance.” I reminded him as I reached for my drink and began to thumb the straw. Zander sighed from exasperation, which made me dissolve in laughter once again. “I don’t hate romanc–… ugh, never mind, you’d never agree with me anyway.” He whined while leaning against the table, causing me to burst out laughing once again.

She said, and cast her eyes down, shaking her head. I could see her mood swing from one of hope to one that was reflective. She thought deeply. She remained silent for close to a minute before she spoke again. “Grandson,” she bounced back much spiritedly, with warmth in her voice, “romance is like a dice; it always takes two sides to win a fortune but often, it is only one side that gets the attention. The one you love may not love you back. And it is highly unlikely that two people would love each other equally. Like the downside of a dice, a true lover isn’t one that comes with glory to seek your praise. There would be no top side of a dice if the down side decides not to rest.
