He grits his teeth, turning toward the source of the shot, Kael, standing at the end of the corridor, pistol raised, calm as if he hadn’t just shot my mate.
“Ronan Draven,” Kael says, voice smooth. “Always the martyr. Just like your foolish brother.”
Ronan moves before I can stop him, even with poison burning through his veins. He lunges forward, tearing through another guard. His movements slow slightly, unsteady, but the rage carries him.
I duck behind a fallen column, grab a blade from a dead guard, and rush another man coming for Ronan’s flank. My wolf howls in my veins as I plunge the knife into his chest. His body hits the ground with a thud.
