Raina pursed her lips. She knew he’d say that. Still, being easygoing had its benefits—she could plant anything she wanted and fill the whole garden with her favorite crops.
It wasn’t until night had fully fallen that she finally stopped working in the garden. Her hands were covered in dirt, but she didn’t seem to mind. She casually wiped them off on her pants and walked over to Leif.
“By the way, Mr. Vexley,” she said, brushing a strand of hair from her face, “do you like lotus root?”
