Painfully familiar. It was Rory. She was much younger. Maybe twelve years old. She was holding a trophy almost as large as she was. The photograph slipped slightly in my fingers. Nobody spoke. Nobody seemed capable of speaking. Finally Rory broke the silence. "I know that tournament." Her voice sounded distant as she spoke. It was like someone remembering another life. Agent Bennett nodded. "Ontario Summer Development Camp." Rory's eyes widened at that. "I was there." "You were,” Rory said softly as if confirming it to herself.

Slipping back into her innocent act, she shook her head with a look of mock confusion. "Do you think Rory's just mad at me, so she spent a fortune to hire people and put on a show? That's exactly how it goes on TV. "She's just a professor's daughter, what could she possibly have to do with a billionaire? She's definitely doing this to steal my Shawn away." I hesitated for only a second before striding over and pulling it open. And then— Everything in me went still. Rory stood there, bathed in the dim glow of candlelight. She was wearing the sheerest nightdress I had ever seen. The thin fabric clung to her body, stopping just above her thighs, leaving far too little to the imagination.
