I murmured, voice like silk over steel.
Viktor turned, stepping aside without a word, his jaw clenched tight. I stepped past him, deliberately close, brushing the edge of his coat. His cologne hit me like smoke and ash—dangerous, addictive.
“Nice outfit, Revenant,” Aleksander said with a low whistle as I passed. “You planning to seduce the enemy or kill them?”
“Both,” I said over my shoulder, not breaking stride.
Viktor’s voice came behind me, cool and sharp. “Next time, wear something more appropriate for a war room.”
