Killing those who were supposed to be some of the best fighters in the pack always bought about a sense of happiness, knowing I was one step closer to being able to seek my revenge. In the ten years I had been living as a rouge the thought of actually meeting my mate was something which had crossed my mind on a couple of occasions, but they were brushed to the side as quickly as they came. At almost twenty-eight I had pretty much accepted that I was never going to find my other half and, even if I did find him now, then I would be sure to reject him. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the infamous rogue," one of the males chuckled when they finally came to a stop where I was readying myself.

None dared to speak. “Next,” a gruff voice called. A hand shoved her forward. Charollet stumbled up the steps of the platform, blinking under the glare of torchlight. A hush fell over the crowd of bidders. “Lot Forty-Seven,” the announcer declared. “Nineteen years. Rogue-raised. Never shifted. Suspected human. Untouched.” A collective murmur passed through the crowd. Some scoffed. Others leaned forward in interest. Charollet kept her eyes down, jaw clenched.

Anna and I were both going, but we had an unspoken agreement not to travel together. I left early, driving straight to the high-speed rail station. The weather on the way there was beautiful. The rail station was on the outskirts and required me to pass through a rather deserted stretch of road. My driving speed slowed as dawn began to break. However, I was caught in an accident as I rounded a corner. I heard a loud crash as my car jolted sideways. I quickly realized that I had been rear-ended. I struggled to steer the wheel, but my car still collided with a pole.

By lunch came about I grabbed my phone and made a call to cancel our lunch plans. “Hey babe, I am sorry but I am on my way back from the rogue camp. The smell down there is terrible. And man, was the game room fucking-tastic. The lightning was dark blue and there were over ten big TV's, over a dozen consoles, game pads, like a ton of action figures lying around. In front of each TV was a big chair that looked comfy as hell, paired with head rest and foot rest. Some of the chairs had some sort of pedal holds and a wheel and Meghan had noticed about three of the guys riding the chair which controlled the game that they were playing on the screen.
