When he finally came home, all the anger I’d been swallowing for months came spilling out. It was a knock-down, drag-out fight — the kind that leaves you trembling long after it’s over. "You've been dead for three days..." I looked down at my body. The skin, once twisted by silver poison, was completely healed. Every wound was gone, without even a scar left behind. "The Moon Pool..." I whispered. Morgan looked at me, confused. "The place where I fell," I rasped, my voice raw. "That was the Moon Pool. The sacred waters..." A powerful Alpha aura rolled off me in waves, and the instruments in the morgue began to vibrate faintly. "The... Moon Wolf bloodline?" Morgan gasped.

The camera showed the inside of the warehouse behind the main entrance doors. The big iron gate hadn't been saved by the shield. The shield came up just a second too late. The heavy iron door was bent inward, its thick security bolts were broken in half. The gate had split open creating a dark hole right in the middle of my front wall. Through the hole I could see the light of the shield outside but inside the room the floor was already covered in black mud. Standing right in the middle of the dark hole staring up at the control room with empty eyes was the first giant, a huge nine-foot-tall creature, pale and terrifying.

The room exploded into silence. Lucien slowly lowered the phone from his ear. And something inside him snapped. “Get the cars ready.” His voice came out deadly calm. The kind of calm that terrified people more than shouting ever could. The guards moved instantly. Nobody dared hesitate. Because every person in that room recognized the look in Lucien’s eyes. Murderous rage. Twenty minutes later, Lucien arrived at the scene. Rain poured heavily over twisted metal and shattered glass while flashing security lights illuminated the wrecked vehicle.

To save the world, we had left a piece of Kael’s soul in a jar. We reached the final airlock. Sela punched a code into a rusted keypad, and the heavy circular door groaned open. The wind hit us first. It wasn't the fresh, biting cold of the mountain. It was hot, smelling of sulfur and burnt plastic. The orange light of the Cinder flooded the corridor, blinding me. We stepped out onto a gantry suspended hundreds of feet above a dead ocean. Below us, the ruins of a massive city were half-buried in black sand. In the distance, three massive towers pierced the orange clouds, glowing with the stolen gold energy of the sleepers.

Or just more ghosts? At the far end of the arena, three massive hangar doors began to open. The sound of grinding gears shook the ground. Thum-thum-thum. "Please tell me those are cleaning robots," Haley whispered. Out of the darkness stepped three giants. They stood twelve feet tall. Humanoid, but crude. They were made of brass and dark iron, driven by hissing steam pistons and humming hydraulic musculature. Their "heads" were featureless domes with single, glowing red eyes. In their hands, they dragged weapons—a massive rotary saw, a pile-driver hammer, and a flamethrower.

The Sapphire Guardian had awoken. Aric and Kaida backed away, their swords drawn. The Guardian was a massive creature, standing over ten feet tall. Its body was made of living stone, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. It let out a roar that shook the ruins to their foundations, and charged at them with lightning speed. Aric and Kaida leaped aside, narrowly avoiding the Guardian's massive fists. They circled around it, their swords flashing in the dim light. The Guardian was a formidable foe, but they were determined to defeat it and claim the Sapphire Crown.

The ruins of Atlantis, once a symbol of grandeur, are now a distant memory, left behind as they venture toward the outskirts of the city. The waystick was damaged in the tussle with the octopus, but Finrir didn't want to alarm his companions. He had decided it was time to camp, and his eyes desperately scanned the ruins around him, searching for a suitable shelter. In the darkness, he finally spotted a small forge, its vent emitting a comforting warmth. It seemed like the perfect place to rest and find some protection from the abyss.

Instead of dying a gruesome death, Maria managed to save the princess's life, but something was wrong. "Wait a sec--Something’s not right! Didn’t the teachers say that they placed a safety net in case our lives are threatened? So, how come no aid arrived?” questioned Maria. 'Our lives were clearly in danger, so how come no one came to save us?' While pondering the problem, she missed that out of the large opening in the ground where Ravager had fallen, something rose up. The creature's body resembled that of a giant centipede, but its head greatly resembled a lion.
