They never lacked. The first and last time she tried to run away, she had experienced an abandonment, a complete lack of wants. She couldn’t do that without a plan. A plan that involved getting her sister and mother out of this hellhole disguised as home. “You can,” Cara said. Her sister knelt by the tub with the tips of her golden hair sinking into the water.
