Visions flashed in front of Nya’s eyes as she tried to rectify what she’d been seeing for the last several days with the scene before her now. All along, she’d thought she’d been seeing Slate in his dragon form in chains, but that wasn’t what she’d been seeing at all. It was this other dragon, the one rising up in front of her now. He looked anything but happy as his nostrils began to flare, and it was quite obvious this dragon’s duty was to protect the Heart of Magic, which Nya could no longer see as it was hidden behind the dragon’s large back.

His other hand quickly clamped around mine, pressing the bracelet on my wrist into my skin. My teeth bit hard into my lips to endure the sharp sting. “You stupid bitch!” He pried my hand away harshly, and I braced for the slap, shutting my eyes. But what greeted me was silence. Absolute silence. Fluttering my eyes open, they widened as I saw Zane gripping Lawrence’s hand. “Dammit! Are you okay?” Lily chimed as she rushed toward me. I forced out a small smile. “Shit! You’re bleeding.” Her eyes widened as she held my wrist, making me realize the cut was deeper than I thought.

Unable to detain myself, I smashed my fist against his jaw. “How could you, Arion? He was your fucking brother, and she was my mate!” Arion had landed on the ground a second after I hit him. His head was turned away as he looked down at the sand, spitting out blood. He didn’t move from his spot but instead started laughing. “I guess there is no sense denying it now. Without the Dragon Stone, she is useless.” Arion slowly rose to his feet. Not wanting him to have the last laugh, I dug into my pocket and pulled out the Azurite Dragon Stone. “You mean this Stone?”

Tiffania chuckled when she informed that and it was making Marius and Lincon whined. “Shit, I’m the lowest. Three.” Lincoln sighed in defeat. He was always the lowest in combat hunting. “Arwel?” Marius asked while the three of them were putting all of the dead rogues into neat columns. “Nine.” Arwel answered when she finished on her side followed by a sigh. “You won, already?” Lincoln asked while dusting his hands after settling the rogues’ corpses. “Neh, someone always beat me on hunting.” Arwel shakes her head while looking around.

With her close range the goat head couldn't really strike making the snakehead and the lion body it's main offense teams. Ruby yelped and stumbled backward when the snake tried biting her only to be punched away by Aurelius who grabbed her waist and dragged her to safety when the lion tried swiping at her. And if we're going to both live and defeat this thing we need to work together, okay?" Aurelius voiced with a stern reprimanding tone.

Ruby glared at him with those peculiar dark-red eyes. She growled and tried to pull her hands free from Rion's hold, but he held her down firmly. "Look at me," Rion repeated. Ruby snarled at him savagely. She bared her teeth and bit his arm. Rion hissed in pain. He held both of Ruby's wrists in one hand and used the other to yank her hair back, so she released her teeth that were latching onto his arm.

“Let him try. He doesn’t know who he’s dealing with.” Lionel raised an eyebrow. “Don’t underestimate him. He has wolfsbane, and he’s not afraid to use it.” The mention of wolfsbane made Axel pause. He turned to face Lionel, his eyes narrowing. “Wolfsbane? How did he get his hands on that?”

The scent led us to a clearing, where the moonlight revealed a figure sprawled on the ground. “Lionel!” I shifted back into my human form, running to his side. His body was battered, his clothes torn and stained with blood. His breathing was shallow, his face pale. Ryker shifted as well, crouching beside me. “He’s alive,” he said, relief evident in his voice. “But barely.”
