I turn back to my laptop, staring at the screen without really seeing it. The sadness wrapping around me like a thick fog, making it hard to think clearly.
My mind drifts back to Knox, to the way things used to be, and how easily he just walked past me now. That hurts more than I want to admit.
With slightly trembling fingers, I open my laptop fully. The screen lights up, and the document I’ve been avoiding stares back at me.
My resignation letter, I stare at it for a long moment.
