Grab my leather rogue bag and head back out. It contains a syringe containing wolfsbane, a silver collar, lighter, gasoline and a pair of leather gloves. On my way I see all the pups filing inside going to the Mess hall. I see my pup, Nae who says frantically, "Daddy rogues are coming and Mom's still out there!" She meant Abijah, sigh I'll have to tell her later what's going on.

Her eyes darted to the tall figure who had just entered the classroom, followed by his friends. Sage Windsor, the most popular guy in school, and for good reason. At just seventeen, Sage was already an international model. His father was a renowned TV producer, and his mother was a star of French television. With his good looks and influential background, his career was set. Despite his fame, Sage was humble and polite—a white moonlight in the hearts of many.

Aegon stopped talking—he fell to the ground, while Sage who could not bear the sight of it shouted at the top of her voice and there was me who fell with Aegon who lay flat—almost lifeless on the ground. “Stay with me, son—” I pleaded. “Stay with me.” Letting go of him, I ran around as I looked for the enemy who had come for us. Grabbing my weapon bag, I shouted. “Leave the way you have come! I am Alpha Knox of The Darkfangs Pack and will deal with you if I lay hands on you—” Sage was behind me—safe and sound. Sage wondered as she looked around her. Something told Sage to walk into the house and on that wall happened to be more pictures like before. There was a little girl that carried Sage’s features, but there were no adults around her. She was practicing different things in the pictures. In the first picture, the young girl was in a pose and the second picture had her flying through the air and the third one had her standing on a dead body that was blooded.

He paused. My phone buzzed. Aria was calling. I answered. "Did you find Lucas?" "We found him." Her voice was strange. "Sage, you need to get here right now. Lucas isn't alone." "What do you mean?" "I mean there are forty-seven people in this subway station." Her voice was shaking. "All Lost One and the escaped placements are waiting for someone to help them remember who they were before the Foundation took them." She paused. "Sage, the youngest one is six years old."

I say as I race to catch up to Brooke. “Bye, Mom! We’ll be back soon!” Cyrene says. “Don’t go too far, Iniko. You’re getting close to your first shift,” she calls out. “We’re just going to the mountain,” I call back. “Go, Kiko, go!” Cyrene says, encouraging me to catch up to Brooke. I love that Cyrene is nine years old and still calls me Kiko. She’s the only one who does. It’s just like she still calls Cal Calgon. No one cares to correct her because she’s Cyrene.

But hearing those sounds stirred something painful inside me a deep sadness. At twenty-eight years old, I had never experienced intimacy with a man. I was still a virgin. I knew nothing about that world. And every time I heard Ana's soft moans and the desperate way Henry held her, I couldn't stop myself from wondering what it felt like.
