I raised an eyebrow at that smile. Mainly because there was an odd glint to his eyes I hadn’t seen before. “Hibiki? What are you thinking?” I cautiously asked.

She glances over at me and nods before making her way to the back room. Packing up my laptop and patiently waiting for the waitress, I survey the room and stop on a little girl in the corner by her mom. Ironically, she has blood red hair the color of the soul eater's and on closer inspection I notice that she has black soulless eyes too. Are there more than one or is she merely changing form? I find myself wondering this and then the waitress strolls out of the back with a bag containing the items I asked for.

As I wondered who had set them off, a message from Amy popped up. "Carla, aren't they beautiful? Johnny set off all those fireworks for me. If you know what those fireworks mean, you'd better step aside and give up your title as Luna." I smiled. "You can keep Johnny, but the Luna title stays with me." Right after I sent that, Johnny connected with me through our mind-link, his roar giving me a headache. "Carla! What are you doing?! Amy's been crying ever since she texted you! Do you still want to remain as Luna? If you can't do the work, I'll find someone else who can!"

But as we drove through, Sage's silence and occasional glances in my direction made me feel like an outsider, a constant reminder that I didn't belong in their pack. Tonight is when Sage announces me to the pack as his new Luna. I stood beside Sage, my heart racing with fear and a hint of discomfort. We were surrounded by the pack, their eyes fixed on us as Sage raised his hands for silence. "My dear pack members," he began, his voice echoing through the hall. "I have an announcement to make. “Nii-san! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to Tokyo?” the young girl called out, half in protest. “Ah… yeah, haha,” Heri replied awkwardly. “I already made plans with someone, Akari-chan. I was worried I wouldn’t have enough time.” Akari’s gaze immediately shifted to Sakura. “Nii-san… who’s she?” she asked innocently. Sakura quickly stepped in to introduce herself, not wanting things to become awkward. “Kitagawa Sakura. Nice to meet you.”

I had to keep fighting. “Protect the healer!” someone shouted. I turned and saw Ariana fighting two rogues at once. She looked tired, but she was fierce. Her sword was moving fast, and her eyes were full of fire. She looked at me and nodded. I nodded back. We didn’t need to say anything. We were in this together. Then, something exploded behind us. A rogue had thrown a small bottle and when it hit the ground, blue fire burst out. It was the same fire from Violeta’s vision.
