My brain yelled at me to move, to do something, but I stood there, paralyzed, and watched him.
And then one of my soldiers raised his weapon, pointing it directly at him.
My body acted on instinct. I had wrapped my arm around the soldier's arm, yanking the gun from his fingers as he prepared to fire. The man whirled around to face me, stunned, but I glared at him through my mask, silently ordering him to back away.
This could not be permitted to happen.
I grabbed my radio. My voice was cold, sharp. "Fall back. Now."
