Xavier sat up, his eyes no longer avoiding hers once she’d asked the question, she tried to gauge his reaction but for someone that was pretty confident in her accuracy of reading people, she was failing miserably right now. She couldn’t understand a single thing when it came to Xavier. His expression became blank and he reclined into his chair and interlocked his fingers in front of him. Halle bit her bottom lip nervously, staring into his insanely calm eyes and wondering if she should be worried about such a reaction.

I don’t know what they were up to, but I knew they were up to no good, and I mind-linked him immediately, “Watch your side, Xan! Watch it!” I warned him, but he only chuckled softly as he turned in my direction with a bright smile on his face, “I know, butterfly. Thanks for watching my back,” he responded firmly, and with a swift move, he dodged a calculated attack from the first guy as he moved out of the way and made him stagger forward. He missed a step and something dropped from his hand, making him curse out loudly.

He told me to tell them off and that they should check in later during lunch time. Instead, he stretched his arms out to the vain man in front of him, still searching for what his sister saw in him anyway, and with a satisfied smirk watch the awe in his eyes at the gesture.
