Sapphire ended the call, returned to her wheelchair, and wheeled herself back into the living room to continue her charade. Her jaw tightened as she made a vow to herself. “I won’t let her win. I’ll bring him back and remind him that he’s mine.”
No. He’d come back on his own—he always does—but he needed to be reminded not to underestimate her. Her mind buzzed with schemes, but none felt solid enough.
