It’s a message from the boss.” He tapped the screen, and a voice recording began to play. It was Noah’s voice, clear and unmistakable. He was finally awake! The moment I heard it, memories of last night suddenly invaded my thoughts. I struggled to push them back in my mind and think straight. I can’t be thinking of that at a time like this. The faint hum of an engine and the occasional whoosh of passing cars as they rushed by in the background made it clear he was driving on the road.

I had already ordered the second. Noah closed the book. He put it on the bedside table. He looked at the ammonite. He looked at Adrian in the small chair. "You should stay," he said. The room was very quiet. Adrian looked at him. "At the hotel?" he said. Noah shook his head.

I panic and Noah pulls me closer to his chest as he wraps his arms around my waist, trying to calm me down. "Babe, please keep calm," he urges. "We will find them." He stares at my face for a while, smiling brightly so that I can relax as well. "The only way to find out what is really going on is to go back to the book," he says and I shake my head. I do not want to go back to that book for any reason. It has scared the life out that I can barely recover myself. "I don't want--" "Hold on," Noah cuts me off, looking like he is deep in thoughts. "Was the voice a male voice?" He asks and I think about it, I definitely heard a male voice.

Third Person's POV Noah sat outside under a tree, enjoying the warm summer day in Ohio. The weather is much warmer here than it is in the upper peninsula of Michigan. He sits under the tree with his back resting against the tree, his knee up near his chest and his hand resting on it while holding a book. He was halfway through a paragraph when he startled at the sound of a voice. The book went flying as he jumped, then glared at the Alpha that just scared him.
