Fearing Fate

Fearing Fate

Sage laughed while nudging me with her elbow. “Ugh. How many times do I have to remind you all that I’m not interested in a chosen mate. I am perfectly happy on my own. Nothing good comes from having a mate… of any kind.” I said softly while looking down at my food. It’s because of mates that this whole thing started. Fated mates died during the plague. Who knows what the Moon Goddess was trying to accomplish with that. How anyone is brave enough to take a mate of any kind after the Fated Plague is mind-boggling to me. I’m not scared of many things, but taking a mate, that’s one I will openly admit to being fearful of.

at first I thought this was going to be the same as all the other stories. dumb main characters with a jealous girl who wants what isn't hers. I was wrong. this book was fantastic. I'm so happy I stuck it out and can't wait until the next book is finished to read.

"If you still refuse then, I'll move to the other arm, then to the leg! If you still don't cooperate, then the thing dangling in between your legs... I'll chop it off!" He went pale-faced, now this was the most terrifying moment in his life! Not even when he was in front of the beast, not even during the Great War did he ever experienced something like this! This was the worst moment he ever experienced in his entire existence! What was worst was that the eyes of the woman held no hesitation. - (She will actually do it?!). "Now you'll decide... What exactly happened to Issei?" - Her voice sounded less terrifying, but for him, it sounded the same.

Hale Academy: University of Sui Generis

John asked as he stood up from where he’d been writing something on the floor, with chalk. “Rare, but then again rarer still are the demons and gods”, she muttered, “The common supreme beings happen to be chimeras, Kitsune, Hydras, Medusa, Kraken, a lot of nymphs and sirens, a lot of Greek mythologies if I had to be pedantic. Oh! Your homeroom teacher Mr. Edwards is a Leviathan, and his wife is a siren I think, we’ve had the first werewolf too; The Beast of Gévaudan and Fenrirs too, a Minotaur and Basilisks. I personally have known three different Basilisks”, she listed as she tried to recall the different Ascendants she’d met. “I thought if one existed, another Ascendant of the same kind co

"No, I mean after the other really weird mystical gangbang you've had recently." Shamira gave the girl a frown. "Sarcasm doesn't become you." The she grinned and said, "I'm actually doing fine." "That was some weird shit. You fantasize about that stuff a lot?" Shamira shook her head. "I hadn't thought about that in a long time," she admitted. "I remember seeing this really creepy japanime flick called 'Curse of the Overfiend' or something like that once. I hated that none of the girls in those movies actually consent, but --" She paused. "This is going to sound sick, but the whole thing with tentacles . . . this unstoppable thing that just fucked you until you couldn't take it anymore just g

That made it a lot harder for me to spill out what I intended. "Yes, Langsuir is a demon responsible for infant mortality and also a shapeshifter and also steals fish from fishermen. Sometimes I wonder what they looked like that I started having cramps steeping inside water." "And that is truly creepy as a child." "Yes, I could remember having a seizure in my sleep because of it." "Could she be creepier than the centaur?" I inquired, could she have been standing here all this me and her knowing that I already know about her and the Abyss?

Mated To The Big Bad Alpha

Olive nodded and adjusted her backpack over her back. “The forest is haunted, isn't it?” Jericho asked as they began to venture in. “Things worse than ghosts might be found here. The Japanese people have a bit of myths and folklores concerning this place. Some of which might be very true,” Crusoe explained again. Shem pulled out his phone. “I gotta take a picture,” he said and brought up his camera. He raised his phone but it sparked and turned off. He tried to turn it on to no avail.

Tales of the Moonlit Grimoire

However, the means to do so had always eluded me. "How can I do that?" I asked, eager for guidance. The woman's face lit up with a knowing smile. "Luna, are you aware of the legend of the dead coming back to life?" she asked quietly. The idea sounded grim, but it made me curious. "I am not familiar with it. What does the legend say?" "In ancient times, it was believed that if someone stepped over a corpse, it could reanimate and transform into a monstrous being. To prevent any supernatural repercussions, the person who stepped over it would have to step over it again," the woman explained.
