Scariest Story Novels & Stories

Tonight was our first official sleepover in the treehouse, and we'd dragged up sleeping bags, flashlights, and enough snacks to last a week. "Tell me a scary story," Avy said, settling into her sleeping bag. "I don't know any scary stories." "Make one up." "Okay, um..." I pointed my flashlight at my face for dramatic effect. "Once upon a time, there was a girl who read so many books that her eyes fell out." "That's not scary, that's stupid." "Fine. There was a boy who was so bad at football that the football grew teeth and ate him." Avy giggled. "You're terrible at this."

“Fine, we’ll let Hellfire tell us a ghost story.” “I don’t know any ghost stories,” I say. “What about you, Siren?” Venom asks her. “Nope.” “Well, then, it’s time the two of you become good at making up stories,” Intrigue says. For the next couple of hours, while Hacker and Sphinx work in the van, the rest of us make up ghost stories. I have to admit, Raptor is really good at making up scary stories and Intrigue is as well. Megan’s aren’t terrible, but Venom’s are, as they said, pretty stupid. I’m not sure mine are any better, but I made up one about the ghost that lives in the river, and it made everyone glance at the river we’re sleeping beside more than once.

"As he ran through the dark forest, he could hear nothing but his fast beating heart, the harsh wind that blew past him, and the stomping of his feet against the dry grasses. He could hear those crazy cries of theirs and boom! Out of nowhere, one of the rogue demons ate his head!" Jolene narrated and waited for Dylan's scared reaction, but the boy only stared blankly at her, eating cookies. "What, that didn't scare you too? That was my best horror story, and it's scary. How could you still have a straight face?" Jolene asked with a disappointed look.

I was shaking with fear before I remembered my mother’s words about a proper trigger, and this might just be it. "Werewolves are strong, and they own the whole Serene land; no one can bring me down," I said, standing to my feet and trying so hard to conceal my fear. But the next thing I saw almost brought me back down to the ground. A swarm of skarvs was approaching me. Mum had always told us that skarvs were twisted creatures, accompanied by fierce, heavy winds. They were the scariest things that existed in the forest, but I would have been able to fight them if only I had my wolf. The wind that accompanied the skarvs had separated me from Mum and Elara; now they couldn't hear me or come to

Amid my struggles, I heard the scrunch of snow somewhere behind me. My entire being froze with the amount of possibilities that it could be the slender man. I was sweating, but my body was cold. All the hairs on my arms and back stood up as I trembled in fear of what’s coming next. I could hear it slowly drag every other step as it approached me. An image of a bloody lady wearing a shredded white dress walking while dragging her chained leg popped into my head. ‘Damn those scary stories told in my school!’

asked one of them. “I have some back in the room. It’s for the sleepover.” replied the other. “I’m so excited!” “Me too! I can’t wait for the Bloody Mary! I will be the one to try it out first!” “Oh my gee! Are we going to read some creepypasta stories for the scary parts?” “Yes! And I heard Nympha will also tell us some true supernatural stories when she was still in the Philippines!”
