CHAPTER 124 Nick found Scarlet near the edge of the woods. She was drawing wards into the dirt, but her hands shook slightly. She sensed him as soon as he stepped into the clearing, but she didn’t look up from the ground, though her body stiffened. “Scarlet,” his voice was low, but not cold. It was hesitant, almost like a plea, but also firm. “We need to talk.” She didn’t look up. She didn’t want to meet his face or see the judgment in his eyes. “I know what you’re going to say.”
