Scarlet was happy and thrilled to be out of the house, she knew about the people that he stationed outside the house to keep an eye on Darcy. She boarded a cab to the bar to see Frederic and tell him about the failure of their plan to have Alexander abducted. She got speechless as she got out of the cab and saw the Leader of the Reachers. “What are you doing here?” Scarlet managed to ask the question as she dragged him to the side of the bar that looked a bit dark because she didn't want Frederic to see him. “You're not supposed to be here.” She added as he flared up, raising his voice.

I reached for our bag; my muscles relaxed as I picked it up and balanced it well. But nothing prepared me for what I saw as I raised my head. The one person whose appearance changed the course of my past life and the one person who is still fated to change the course of my present life. “Dammit!” My wolf cursed. Scarlet stood before me. Her hair was just as red as I remembered, cascading over her shoulders like fresh blood. Her eyes gleamed as they locked onto Ryder, and her lips curved into a dirty smile that made my skin crawl.

Jack looks at me. “You…you are the reason.” He walks toward me, but as he does, he shifts. “RUN!” Frank yells. No. I am done running. This is my pack. Frank is my Alpha. Jack is dead. Jack’s wolf lunges for my throat. He is nearly to me when something crashes into his side. Scarlet throws him off balance as she snarls. Jack’s teeth dig into her shoulder. Blood sprays everywhere. She keeps fighting as wolves come to help Jack. She took one of the wolves down, but another bit into her side. “Scarlet!” She falls. Her breath is labored as blood coats the ground. The wolves turn to me. Frank roars, trying to break free. They claw at him, but he keeps fighting to get to me.

There must be a deer wandering around close again to the cabin as the branches snapping sounds like it is right outside my front door. Suddenly the noises became louder, and before I knew what was happening, I heard a loud pop noise, and I saw something coming through my cabin door, coming in my direction. I soon released what it was, but before I could do anything, Scarlett appeared in front of me in a flash, pushing me to the ground. “Stay down,” she said. I look up and see Scarlett armed with a gun. What the fuck? Where did that come from? She was handling it like she knew what she was doing with it.

She was more than capable of completing a mission on her own. "I know you're capable, Scarlett," Romero said sarcastically, sensing her irritation. "But it never hurts to have a backup plan." Scarlett rolled her eyes, knowing that Romero had a point even though he was clearly taunting her. She may be skilled, but anything could happen on a mission. "Fine," she said with a sigh. "But don't get in my way." Romero grinned. "Wouldn't dream of it." Not when he wanted nothing more but for her to be shaken by the gruesome events of the underworld.

Opponents that even the best Hunters, the Five Colours, could not beat alone. I heard that Sara also faced a Scarlett elite during the battle. She practically lost but was saved by Rin Blair, a Dragon Emperor and a Legendary rank Hunter. Meaning that the Scarlett elites were at least their level. A level that I was never deemed worthy of despite my skills that I have sharpened throughout my life.

TRISTAN I watched as Lyra exit my chambers through the front door. “Derek, come in,” I spoke softly. “My Lord,” Derek, my assistant greeted as he came in through the back door. “What do you have for me?” “She is the last of her kind, Alpha Tristan. So the search for the descendant of the Ravens is a lost cause. She is the only one that can bring the solution we need,” Derek explained. “What about her origin pack? You don't think she might have a sister or brother who will can use?” “There is none, my Lord.”

She looked exactly like the woman in the one picture I had hidden in my room back at— Back at the place that was no longer my home. “She had twins,” Kieran continued quietly. “You and me. Different fathers, born minutes apart. When the relationship ended, she kept you while my father took me. They agreed it was better if we never knew about each other.”

Her hand trembled visibly as she lowered her fork, the silver clinking against the china. "And that’s not all," Damon continued, leaning forward. "The entire region is in an uproar.
