Chapter three.

SCAR'S POV (continuation.)

"We don't eat our guest silly." He replies.

So......am not going to die?

When I look back at him, he was staring into space. Then said. "Come in."

Come in?

The door opens to reveal a man in his early twenties carrying a medical kit with a slim, blue glasses sitting in his pointed nose.

Is that a doctor? He seems too young to be a doctor.

"Alpha Luna." He bows.

"This is our pack doctor, Derek." The grey eye guy introduces. "And this is...."

"Scarlet." I say.

What happened to, don't tell your name to strangers. A voice nags from the back of my head.

"Scarlet." He says my name, like he has known it since forever.

"Can you sit up?" Derek asks. "Straight."

Moving from my position, which was half lying and sitting, I try to sit upright but the aching pain in my side stops me.

The grey eye guy places his hands on my shoulder and I lean back into the bed, slipping away from his hold.

"I just want to help you sit." He says. I nod at him, and he gently pulls me up.

"She looks better than the last time I came." Derek confirms after checking my bandaged wounds.

Last time he came.

"How long was I out?" I exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Five days." The grey eye guy replies.

Five days, that was enough time for them to eat me. Maybe he isn't a bad person.

Even so, I can't trust him. Maybe he has another motive.

"You had three broken ribs, you sprained your ankle, and you had an internal bleeding." Derek states.

"Well, it wasn't as bad as I had thought." I say to myself. Fully surprised. Considering the pain I thought I might have a broken spine too.

They both give me a weird look, but decided not to ask anymore questions.

"Make sure she eats, I mean a lot. It will help her heal faster." Derek says, putting his box into order.

"That will be all, Alpha." Derek bows. "Goodbye Luna."

Luna, why does he keep calling me Luna? Is it someone he knows I look like? Or maybe someone related to the grey eye guy?

I take a glance at him and find him already staring at me.

"Is he a wolf too?" I ask, referring to Derek.

"Yes." He replies.

He seemed really nice, though.

"So, your name is Alpha?"

"No." His lips break into a smile. "Its Austen."

"Austen." I repeat, I kindoff like the way his name rolls down my tongue.

It's like when you say ice-cream.

Ok, that's also weird.

"Let's go get lunch. You haven't eaten in days." Austen says, then picks me up, carrying me in bridal style.

Electric shock runs through me at the skin to skin contact, and I turn stiff.

"Relax, I promise I won't drop you." Austen states, and I lean towards him.

I stare at his face as he walks. He has a sharp, outlined jaw, a pointed nose, and of course I can't forget his beautiful grey eyes, the exact definition of perfect.

His mouth curves into a smile, and I quickly withdraw my eyes from his face.

He must have caught me staring. I shouldn't make him mad.

He might change his mind, then decide to kill me.

We walk down a set of stairs then into a big room. I can easily guess is a kitchen.

It's big. bigger than our full house. Also clean too.

He drops me on the counter, then walks to a pair of cupboards at the top of the left side of the kitchen, above the sparkling white aisle.

"You want, yogurt tubes, pretzels or granular bar." Austen turns to face me. One of those perfectly shaved brows popped up.

Are those torturous ways of killing people?

I thought he said he's gonna give me lunch.

This is why you should trust no one, Scar.

"You don't know them?" Austin suddenly asked. Looking perplexed for some seconds. "Well then, you can have them all."

Them all? I really prefer a quick short death, please. I know I am a sinner, God. But please have mercy.

He brings out four sachet packets, then empties the contents into a deep white bowl, and adds milk.

Okay then. He is going to feed me. Then kill me. Atleat the food smells nice. I won't mind dying after this.

"Here." He passes the bowl to me. "Eat up."

He raises an eyebrow when I refuse at first.

I can't make him angry. I really can't make him angry. I need to play along until I find a way to escape.

Yes. I should do just that.

I hesitantly pick up the spoon, then scoop a spoonful from the bowl.

Hmmmm...... It tastes good.

better than the bread and soup I normally have for dinner.

Very delightful. An aftermath buzz lingering in my mouth. Absolutely delicious.

I take more spoons until my stomach couldn't take no more.

"Am full." I say, then push the plate away.

I feel like I would burst open like a tomato if I eat another spoon.

This should do.

"You should eat a bit more. Remember what the doctor said." Austen states sternly.

Eat more?

"But I can't." I shake my head in refusal.

He sighs, then empties the bowl into the drain. "until dinner then."

"Where is she?" The kitchen door bursts open and a girl walks in. I quickly hop off the counter, jumping behind Austen's back.

It's his lover. What do I do? What do I do? She is definitely going to kill me. Should I tell her he helped me and brought be home last night?

Damn it. I definitely don't want to die in the hands of a lady.

"Amelia." Austin groans. "Please try not to break my door. I just fixed the one you broke last night."

"It was a mistake." She says with a glare. But still looks very pretty.

What a goddess. Well, I don't think I mind dying in her arms.

Her eyes pop out of their sockets when it falls on me, threatening to fall in any minute.

Okay. She really does look like a fish right now. A strangled fish.

"It's her." She jumps in excitement, then tackles me for a hug, and unable to escape, I can only struggle in her arms. "I can't believe you found your mate."

No, she's going to kill me. God... wait...

"Mate? I repeat.

First Derek called me Luna. And now she's calling me mate.

These people are driving me crazy, or maybe they are the crazy ones.

Crazy wolves.

Can my life be any worse?

"She doesn't know." The girl asks, her mouth curved into an 'o' shape.

Now I look at it. She doesn't look like his lover anymore. Is she a close friend of his?

"No." Austen replies.

"Dose she knows we are different. "

"Different? as in been wolves." I guess. No. I should keep my mouth shut. Then maybe I will survive longer.

"Okay, that's the only thing she knows." She turns to Austen and they boh stare into each other's eyes.

It's like they are communicating, maybe talking with their eyes. Are they twins? I heard that twins can communicate with each other without even talking.

"I have to go. I have some paper works to deal with." Austen says to me. "Amelia will watch over you." He leans towards me, forcing me to lean back.

I can see pain flash in his eyes, even if I don't know why.

He is such an emotionally unstable, crazy wolf. Maybe he might be bipolar too.

Who knows?

"Amelia, please do nothing stupid." Austen gives Amelia a stern look before walking out of the kitchen.

"So, am Amelia, that idiot sister." She says, obviously referring to Austen. "What's your name?"

His sister. Not twins then. Hmm.... they might actually be a twin. You can never know.

"Scar——let. My name is Scarlet." Realizing I have been keeping her waiting, I quickly supplied.

I really can't make her mad. What If she decide to cook me in advance? Then I won't be able to escape.

No. That can't happen.

Why do I keep on jumping from one boiling pot to another?

"So, Scarlet, what do you want to know first?" She grins, like she could see how bad I wanted someone to answer the questions running through my mind.

And although there were many, Its wasn't hard to pick the most pressing one.

"What's a mate?"

(Hehehe, my fav question. Love yal. ADIOS.)
