Scarlett:Pov "Julian!" Scarlett's scream ripped through the observation room. On the live screen, Evelyn's gun was aimed directly at him. Time slowed. Julian had his back turned, locked in a fight with one of the guards. He didn't see it. Didn't know. Scarlett's heart slammed painfully against her ribs. "No…" Her hands pressed against the glass console as if she could somehow reach through the screen. Then The gunshot echoed through the speakers. Camille gasped sharply.

Scarlett replied, her hand still holding into Julian. “Ummm… mind letting go of my hand?” He asked, as she still held onto his arm comfortably. Scarlet's eyes widened slightly, realizing that although Seth was long gone, she still was holding into julians arm. “Oh,” she let out, letting go of his hand and brushing her fingers against her side like she’d touched something dirty. Julian raised an eyebrow at that, mildly offended. But instead of arguing, his lips curled into a sly smirk. “You didn’t seem to mind holding it just now.”

Theron cut him off sharply, clearly unwilling to let another second of that filth reach his ears. Julian slapped his own mouth lightly in mock apology, then grinned. "Fine, fine. But, Uncle, I really like that girl. Just give her to me, alright? Otherwise I won't be able to eat or sleep." Standing off to the side, Rhys couldn't help wondering which maid Julian was talking about. Then, before he could figure it out- Scarlett walked in. The second Julian saw her, his eyes lit up. He shot to his feet and pointed straight at her.

"Thank you, Scar. That's very generous of you." Scarlett looked directly into Julien's eyes. "I'm very happy for you both." Julien beamed with pride. He knew how hard it was for Scarlett to swallow her pride like that. "Thank you, Scarlett." Julien was glad to see that she was happy for him. After all they had been through together, she was probably the best friend he ever had. Then Julien smelled something, sending him on alert. Heightened adrenaline, maybe? But he couldn't tell where it was coming from. Whatever it was, it set his wolf on edge.

"Scarlett? Where are you? Don't do this, Scar. We can still salvage the Meridian core. The twelve names... they don't care about Arthur. They care about the data. If we give them the uplink, they’ll buy us new lives. London, Paris, wherever you want. Scarlett and Lucian were cuddled on the couch watching television, and I went to the cabinet to pour myself a drink. "I hope you didn't touch her, Lucian?" I linked him, and he looked at me with hurt. "I might be annoying, but I am not a pig. Besides, I found out she was a virgin this afternoon. I am mad that you two did not tell me," He linked me back, and I smiled at him. "So that was why you accepted her," I linked him, and he pulled away from Scarlett and came to me.

"You may have prepared, but have you ever actually done it yourself?" Scarlett raised her chin defiantly. "I may be young, but I'm not inexperienced. I learned some stuff while I was in Europe." Without warning, Romero's hand shot out and grabbed hold of Scarlett's right hand, pulling her towards him until their lips were almost touching. Scarlett struggled against him, but he held her firmly in place.

However, my mom did not care at all. An hour later, my dad showed up with Erin by his side. When I saw both of them alive and unharmed, I finally let out a breath of relief. At least this time, the tragedy from our past lives had not repeated itself. My mom laughed maniacally. "Honey, go ahead and choose! Do you want your daughter's life, or do you want the vixen's life?"

Scarlett wondered. Solen swallowed her saliva and escaped again, but Scarlett stepped on her gown. “Are you trying to escape from me? We’re not done yet.” Solen swallowed and turned to face Scarlett. “What do you want from me? You won for now! Let us go!” she yelled.

Victor Delacroix had made a mistake thinking he could crush her. And I had every intention of using his mistake against him. “Do you need more time?” I asked, my voice, measured. I already knew the answer. Scarlett exhaled slowly, lifting her gaze to meet mine. There was no fear there anymore. Only determination. She took out a pen from her purse, pressed it to the paper, and with one stroke of ink, she sealed her fate. “Good choice,” I murmured, taking the contract from her and sliding it into my briefcase.
