Once we finished lunch, Marian pushed her chair back and said, "I'm so full! Thanks, Scarlett."
Scarlett smiled, her expression softening. "Anytime, Mari."
As Marian moved to the living room, Scarlett's serious gaze met mine.
"We can't keep her in the dark forever," she murmured.
I nodded, feeling the heaviness of our secrets.
Before we could discuss further, Marian called out, "Hey, can we watch a movie? I need a day to relax."
Scarlett's eyes remained fixed on mine. "Sounds perfect," she replied, her tone laced with tension.
