But the green‑eyed man looks like he took the worst of it. A deep scar cuts across his cheek, another over his eye, though the eye itself seems intact. The two men in the cell across from them look just as battered. They all seem to be in their twenties, older than me. I look away from the smiling man.

"A crossbreed offspring of a demon and a vampire." He explained. "Are they real?" "I have no idea. I've only heard of them in myths and legends." Scarlett looked down at the book again. For some strange reason, the winged man reminded her of Dylan. The same bone structure, facial features, perfect jawline and compelling eyes...
