She Runs with Wolves

She Runs with Wolves

Kathrena wondered aloud, her fingers stroking the worn edge of the book. “It’s a Book of Shadows,” I said, gently moving my hand past Kath’s and opening it to the first page. Like the newspapers, it smelt old, but it had a herby scent rather than one of cigarettes and coffee. “A what?” Skye asked, cocking his head to one side as he examined it. “Of course,” Kathrena breathed. “Witches.” “You know about them?” I frowned.

Such an exciting read so far! I am enjoying getting to know our main characters and discovering how their lives have come together while trying to anticipate what might happen next as each chapter is released. Having just finished the entirety of The Beta’s Daughter, this author is an amazing writer
Susan
A fantastic second novel, with a refreshingly different tone from the previous entry. The mythologies in this are very well developed and I am very excited to see how the story unfolds! The protagonist and her love interest and very engaging too and I am rooting hard for them!

His Warm-Blooded Mate

His Warm-Blooded Mate

His brown eyes looked like fresh honey and his red hair resembled curls that were lit with flames. "Sleep is a rarity these days," Sydney answered before turning to Thorne, Penelope, and me, "this is my brother Sylvain," she then pointed to each of us respectively and said our names, "Thorne, he's a hellhound. This is Penelope, the witch. And Lilith, vampire Queen." Sylvain's ginger eyebrows scrunched and those whirlpool honey eyes of his landed on Julian, "I thought you said your mate's a werewolf. Did you reject her?"

I totally understand Sylvain's situation. buy I don't like how everyone is against him... even his sister. Sydney always thought about herself and never consider about others feelings. Always Quade is the one who apologizes when clearly he was not the only one at fault but still everyone judge him .

Love the twist that Tania is Sylvain’s mate!!..I like the idea of redeeming the bad girl!!..Quade& his friends killed some people from the pack, came to kill Sydney & her entire family, slept around with females in her pack & did anything he wanted&everything was forgiven because they were mates….

Shadow

Shadow

I wipe off blood from my nose and snap it back in place “Last chance, tell me where to find that bastard and you might be alive to rebuild” “Don't underestimate me just because you were able to land an attack on me” blood drips from her face and she slowly walks to me Death Scythe emerges from my shadow and floats beside me before I grip it firmly and run to her. I perform a front thrust, pushing Death Scythe to her face but Madame Abigail steps to the side and i turn it over making the blade curl behind her and then pull it back fast

Silas

Silas

Chapter 11 – Silas The low hum of voices filled the dining room, but I barely heard them. My mind was elsewhere—still stuck on the girl sitting beside me. Hyacinth Clausen. It felt like a cruel twist of fate. The fiery woman I couldn’t forget, whose defiance had ignited something primal in me, was now... my stepsister? The thought gnawed at me. I tightened my grip on my fork, as if the pressure could drive the thought out of my mind. It felt wrong, unnatural, like some sick joke played by the gods to remind me of my sins.

Strings of Fate

Strings of Fate

Bellamy says, swapping over the documents. “Oh, well for starters, I suppose ‘sisters’ is just a label, because one of these is a guy.” I note. “Yes. Also they are both different races and as a result it is rather unusual but they have two marks. They each have a ‘sister of fate’ mark and a race mark. Their races are no secret. A Banshee and a Witch.” Bellamy adds. The files don’t say much else. The Banshee is a man named Colin Demy and the Witch is of course a woman and her name is Adeline Landry. It lists an email and phone number contact for each of them and… that’s about it. I suppose I don’t really need more information than that to contact them.

I am absolutely in love with this story! It is extremely well written, very detailed and a interesting storyline. I am in love with the characters with there heart to heart conversations, playful banter, and the amazing group chat. (I laugh evertime I read the chat). Definitely recommend!

This is one of the best stories I've read in ages! It's got the slow-roll romance, but there's lots of other aspects to this that keep it from stagnating. Also, the dynamic between a dominant alpha who's completely clingy and a dominant woman who's used to being a loner is very amusing.

The Biker’s Mafia Princess

The Biker’s Mafia Princess

Ripper hands me my guns and I take them and check them before I leave the clubhouse with Rebel and Dante behind me. I kiss them both and take Rebel’s face in my hands and look into her honey coloured eyes. “We will find who did this and they will wish for death,” I say to her, her hands placed over mine. I place my forehead against hers, closing my eyes to centre myself. “Can’t have the reaper without his Scythe.” She whispers, and I open my eyes and look into hers. She knows who I am and what I am capable of. They don’t call me Scythe for nothing. The instrument of the Reaper. The instrument of death.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!! I found this book as a suggestion and haven’t been able to put it down since I picked it up; I read it so fast that I got to the point where I had to wait for Ms. Lou to add the updates. I really loved how this story evolved and can’t wait to read her other books!

Beneath the Scalpel: A Dead Wife's Secret

Beneath the Scalpel: A Dead Wife's Secret

Hovering up above in the laboratory as a ghostly specter, I watched as my corpse lay naked in front of Nathan Lowe. My face was disfigured beyond recognition, and both my arms were crushed to a pulp. Nathan heaved a sigh before looking over at Gina Mason, who stood beside him with an innocent expression. "Why did you go so far?" Hearing that, Gina exhaled in relief. She deduced that Nathan hadn't recognized the body to be mine. "You'll help me, right, Nate?" Gina asked, her voice inspiring pity and compassion in all who heard her.

His Claws On My Neck

His Claws On My Neck

Axel signaled him to come nearer and sit in front of him. “What’s your name and rank?” “I-I’m Sky... and I’m a Psi,” he meekly muttered, pushing his glasses up. Axel understandingly nodded. A Psi, just like Liam. “Good evening to you too, Sky. What do you need?” “W-Well, uh, I just finished reading a book and I-I thought I’d share it with you... Alpha.” Sky gave him the book with shaking hands. He looked down on the cover and read the title: The Anthem of Lycanthropy.

The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster

The Last Ruby Wolf - Live as a Queen or Die as a Monster

The silver one for vampires, the iron one for witches, and my favorite—bone-handled steel for everything else. A twig snapped to my left. I didn't turn my head. Didn't give away that I'd heard it. Instead, I pretended to check the fire, moving closer to where Sienna slept. Another snap. Closer. "Now," I whispered. Five black-clad people burst from the trees. Syndicate killers. I recognized their masks—bone white with red marks showing their rank. Two leaders and three scouts. I threw my steel knife, catching a scout in the shoulder. Not deadly, but enough to slow him down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Funny, I was just thinking about this after my second read-through. The roles are pretty clear-cut in the 'Scythe' world, but the powers are more about authority than superhuman stuff. Scythes wield absolute, legal power to glean (that's kill, permanently) anyone, anywhere, any time. They're above all law. But the real tension comes from their self-imposed rules—the Ten Commandments—and how different characters twist them. Citra and Rowan start as apprentices, so their 'power' is purely potential, tied to mastering the art of killing and philosophy.

What fascinated me was the bureaucratic power. Scythes like Goddard exploit loopholes and traditions to build factions. His role shifts from a respected Scythe to basically a warlord, using gleanings as political terror. Meanwhile, Scythe Curie's power comes from centuries of respect and moral authority, which is a different kind of influence altogether. Their 'thunderheads' (the nanites in people's bodies) only work on them if they choose to feel pain or pleasure, so even their biology is under their control. It's less about flashy abilities and more about the weight of playing god in a world where death is supposed to be obsolete.
