I bolted my door shut and rested my back behind it. My mind seemed to be in shambles as it tried to wrap around the things that had happened. I sat down on the floor of my room and tucked my knees in front of me. Screams and cries echoed throughout the castle and in response, I placed my hands over my ears to try and silence them. The things William said to me were not merely scary stories that mothers told their children— they are real. This is the reason my father is scared of them. They are not like us— they are the blood drinkers.

I have only 3 days left before miss Lauretta throws me out. I went to collect the bill for his meal,his girlfriend is a talkative. She talks like a parrot,I made to collect it as soon as my hands touched his,I felt a tingling sensation, I quickly took the money and left. He stood up and left. I never realized how peaceful humans look when they are in the depths of deep slumber. Just by looking at one you would think all well within the world, and maybe it is but not in my world. As I watch Sky sleep I realize two things, one being that I have finally embraced the fact that I'm a nonhuman and the other is that for the first time in my life I am truly scared. For the last few days all I have been feeling this intense fear, gut wrenching fear that at any moment one of the demons after me would come and kill the love of my life. Hence why I have been watching him sleep and basically following him around for days now.

“Oh God!” Out of everything that I’d learned after turning into a vampire, the stories of the Elders and their Death Squad had scared me the most. Because anyone who came in contact with the Death Squad didn’t live to tell the tale, there weren’t many knows facts but from what I’d heard from the whispers, they were the ghosts in the shadows, the boogeyman of the vampire race and anyone who came into contact with them died a painful death.

Xavier joked. "According to my grandfather, a month after the boy's death, students started missing. They were all found dead in the woods a week or two after. They dubbed the serial killer as Sunnyville Reaper. And, from what my grandfather told me, your parents are one of those kids who bullied him." The student said before leaving. I had this terrible habit of reading horror stories and spending sleepless nights huddled under the covers in fear. And then it came again, the same scraping noise but followed by muffled, ominous laughter. It was definitely not my overactive imagination. Did someone else use this room when I wasn't around at night? Goosebumps erupted across my already prickling skin as I slowly opened the door a sliver to look. He screamed excitedly, running along. "Adrian, don't go too far, wait for me!" He turned around and waved for me to hurry. I smiled, joy filling my heart seeing how happy it made Adrian to be here. We enjoyed outdoor games, riding the carousel and others, then Adrian saw a haunted house and asked if he could go there. "Why do you want to go there? It could be very scary." "That's what I want. Like the horror stories I read." I was taken aback. "Who gave you horror stories?" He slapped his hands against his lips and shook his head. I pulled his hand down, showing him my serious face. He bent his head and pinched his little fingers. "Tell me Adrian. Remember you don't lie to Mommy."

"This place really is cursed. It's a ghost! A ghost!" I slapped my hand over her mouth. She loved horror stories. She was always easily scared, but she loved them nonetheless. Seeing the real thing now, she was scared out of her wits. "Don't be scared. There are so many of us here. What's there to be scared of?" Normally, having so many people around would make ghosts less frightening. But right now, the sky was dark and overcast, and fog was rolling in. Everything was hazy. People couldn't see each other clearly. It was the kind of bone-chilling terror that made everyone's skin crawl and even made their sense of self slip away.
