She scribbled notes furiously and drew little wolf paw prints in her book like a toddler. I almost laughed out loud. She was drawing her own doom and calling it cute. Halfway through the lecture I paused at the podium, letting silence settle like a net. “Many of you signed up for this elective because the mythology intrigued you,” I said, scanning faces. “But just to clarify, what we do here is based on myth, and fossils found, you would not be seeing werewolves or vampires, they are lore.” “What do you believe, Prof. Kane?” Someone asked, and I smiled showing off my perfect teeth. “I think we haven't just searched enough.”

Father then recited spell after spell, and was greeted by the sect members who repeated the incantation while raising their hands and walking around them. "I'm a Lycan and you are no ordinary human," he rasped. 'Oh! That's what he meant. Perhaps he could perceive that I was a witch.' I thought to myself, remembering him in his beastly form thinking I was right in my deduction of what he was. Lycans and werewolves are known for their keen sense of smell just like the nightwalkers who can tell apart regular human blood from a witch's blood. My mother once told me that nocturnal creatures feared drinking witches' blood because they are scared of being enslaved
