I felt scared of the man in front of me now that he’d the glint of deceit in his amber eyes. His decency was creepy. “You are, Sandra. After this, you’ll always be. The only one with a brand.” The man was the slayer of hundreds and a cold-blooded murderer. I had seen this man crave bloodlust. Those who stood against him dreaded the day they were born. Its lips curled back in a feral sneer. “Outsiders,” it hissed, its voice deep and gravelly. “You trespass on the sacred lands of the Sand people.” The emperor hesitantly stepped forward, his hand instinctively going to the hilt of his sword. “We don’t want any trouble,” he said, his voice steady though his mind raced. “We just need to pass through.” The Sandman laughed, a sound like stones grinding together. “There is no passing through. Sandra screamed, looking at the hulking, demonic creature with razor-sharp claws and teeth. Immediately, the monstrous Carnifex dived in Sandra's direction, but Mark was quick to drop the girls he was carrying to the floor and jumped in front of Sandra, a purple barrier instantly forming in front of him and keeping the monster away. "Grrrrr...mmm..." The Carnifex growled low in anger.

His arm went to my waist, and not long after that, I was already in the air. "You don’t need to answer. It’s better for you to sleep so that the effects of the drug won’t be severe.
