Curiosity filled Anna in that moment as she stared at Sandra with sharp eyes, "The owner of Abaddon is a man called Dan." "Okay?" Anna asked, waiting for more.

Before I could fully steady myself, Lycus’s communication stone flared to life. He answered instantly. “Alpha Lycus! Please—please help!” Maren’s voice was frantic, shaking. “A rogue just burst into Sandra’s healing chamber with a bone blade, claiming she’s his fated mate and demanding to drag her home! None of us dares get close! Sandra’s terrified. She’s about to faint!” Right as Maren finished, Sandra’s shrill screams pierced through the stone. “Don’t touch me! Lycus! Help me!”

"I can't see anything," she whispered, feeling as if she were walking into her own grave.

As soon as Bryan left, Sandro picked up his mobile and seemed relieved to notice that Asher didn't disconnect the call. "Man, that dude is crazy. Almost as crazy as a Psychopath" Sandro muttered, trying to calm down his pounding heart. Bryan is not here, yet Sandro couldn't relax. He saw the look in Bryan's eyes, and adding his parting words to his look, it is terrifying.

Something certainly didn't sit right with her about this man. As soon as he headed towards the elevators, she called for security. Taking a deep breath I opened my mouth to speak when I felt a strange stinging sensation in my left shoulder. "Wait.. what was that? What have you done to me?" I was scared and unable to move from the spot. My legs instantly collapsed causing me to end up in a heap on the forest ground. "No!" I heard someone scream but then everything around me went dark.

I took a deep breath as my colleague hurried over, his hand brushing against the man who was slowly making his way toward me. "Oh, sorry, sir!" my colleague said, but the man only smirked in response. "Scar..." he began to say my name, but I interrupted him, my jaw dropping in disbelief. "What’s with that look?" he asked. "Nothing, it’s not your concern." He shrugged, opened the door, grabbed the cake posh, and walked away. I stepped back, wanting to avoid any connection. If he was indeed supernatural, he might sense my energy. My heart raced with anxiety.

I tug on his arm desperately trying to get him to stay. “Stop. I have to leave, now let go.” He yanks my hand from his arm and walks out of the room. I sit down in my desk chair and stare out the window. Still feeling scared, I grab my blanket and wrap it around me, but something gets my attention. Scanning the surrounding area, I notice something off. It feels like the darkness seems more intense than it usually is. Maybe it’s because it is Halloween.

Pelin seethed. The sand rumbled again beneath our feet, louder this time. “Now run!” I screamed, grabbing Pelin’s hand and clasping it tight. She didn’t hesitate anymore. We took off across the dunes, boots sinking into the shifting ground, breath ragged from the heat. Behind us, the sand cracked open with a deep, thunderous roar. Scorpio the massive scorpion emerged from the depths, crawling forward on its grotesque, skeletal limbs. Its long, spindly legs moved with a disturbing rhythm, each step sending a shiver down my spine. It didn’t attack right away, no, that would’ve been too merciful.
