So the thing about horror stories is that-- The fear kicks in only at dark nights when you are alone, not when you are at the crowded theater or on the bright street. Just remember, if you don’t want things to go bump in the night, don’t tell anyone else about them. Even now the shadows in my room play havoc with my subconscious, so I turn the light on and sleep with one eye open. May hated it, but he couldn’t say no when his little niece looked up at him with big eyes and asked so politely for a story. He would always stopped at the climax, sighed dramatically, and say that it’s too scary. She would grab his hand and say she wasn’t scared, that she would be brave. She would ask, so excited, “What happened next?”

Overtaken by the waters?” “No. Have you ever heard of the Moonlink pack?” “Who hasn’t?” I say. “An old nursing tale used to scare young wolves.” “And what if I told you the tale was true?” I turn to gape at him and a thrill runs through me. Was he always standing so close? “I would tell you you’re ridiculous.” I say, getting back on track. He smiles, a baring of teeth really. “They are real.” He says. For the umpteenth time in only so many hours I’m shocked.

Unable to dampen my restlessness, I quickly went to my computer and turned it on. I typed the word 'vampire' on the internet and found so many things. It was a mythical creature that lived by feeding on the vital essence of the living. Some sites said that vampires were humans who had resurrected from the dead. There was a site that said a person could become a vampire when a cat jumped over the person's dead corpse. I also read that they were the authors of mischief, they don't reproduce and they die by getting pierced by sharp objects or by getting exposed to the sunlight.

She opened him up before everyone was about to get home and scared Zac that if he told this to anyone then she would lock him again. When I returned home, I looked for Zac all over the house but couldn't find him. “Have you seen Zac?” I asked Caroline “No.” She answered and continued using her phone. I went to my room and closed the door. I sat on my bed and heard something strange. Someone was weeping. I looked under my bed and I saw Zac hiding and weeping under my bed. “What happened Zac?” I hugged him after he came out. “She...She--” He couldn’t speak out of fear.
