The dawn was enchanting, with the amber-hued sun shimmering brilliantly, painting the world in its warm embrace. It was around 6 O'clock in the morning. The melodious chirping of birds filled the air as I stepped outside of the room, my footsteps light and cautious. A breathtaking scene unfolded before me. The stage is illuminated orange by the flames that lick against the background scene, which has been set up to look like an Elven village. Ear-piercing, harrowing screams emanate through the air as giant wolf beasts ravage the Elven town, the dramatic music adding to the atmospheric horror of it all.

It was a night scene with a sphinx in the background and two lovers entwined by a fire. Just the sort of thing that would have caught Mathin’s eye, Andrea thought, amused. Unfortunately, my prediction turns out to be exactly right. Everything starts out okay. The first half of the scene is mostly dialogue. Our characters, Jax and Isabel, have just escaped from a horde of alien creatures (another addition to the sequel) into the relative safety of an abandoned convenience store. The set today looks spectacular - exactly like you'd expect an already trashy gas station mart to look after a huge apocalyptic event. Dilapidated shelves dangle at all angles, dented cans are scattered everywhere, and - of course - everything has a thick coat of "apocalypse dust." The only thing that breaks the illusion is the giant green screen behind the convenience store's "windows"
