When Life Takes A Turn

When Life Takes A Turn

Had it not been for his grandfather regaining his consciousness at last to clear his name, he would still have to remain hiding now. Sigh! Zayn heaved a sigh. He was overwhelmed with complicated emotions even before he arrived at his grandfather’s grave. The sky had yet to brighten, so the entire ground was pitch black. Zayn parked the car and stopped the engine to discover that all the light had vanished completely. He was in a public graveyard where weeds and tombstones crowded the earth. The sound of crickets and crows could be heard occasionally, and it made the place appear especially gloomy, desolated, and ghastly.

James O. Odeny
I like the story so much. The plot is direct though. One can easily predict what's next. I like the heart of this guy Zayn. He can easily hide his happiness and endure torture, bullying and humiliation in the name of love. Love for a complacent woman.

Grave Affairs

Grave Affairs

"You are really trying to make me hungry…and it's working, but first we have to visit the hospital and make sure granny’s okay, it was a long journey, why couldn’t they fly here as well?” “You know Etienne the specialist preferred that she drives here instead, I took was a bit surprised, but I surpassed it, don’t think too much about it, all is well.” Etienne nodded in response. They made their stop at the entrance of a complex “La Casa de Rivonia”. It was an apartment block the size of `half a skyscraper, colored in grey, white, and cream with a big sign hanging off one of the buildings that had the name of the apartment on it, and at the entrance stood 4 security guards.

The Midnight Bus

The Midnight Bus

I didn’t get into college, so I took a job driving a city bus. Once I finished training, I started working the night shift with Uncle Tim. He had always been the kind of guy who followed every rule. But that night, he wouldn’t let me pick up a single passenger. He even made me keep the bus dark the entire route. Uncle Tim died shortly after that incident. A few days later, someone told me something that made my blood run cold. Uncle Tim had actually been dead for quite some time. So who the hell had been riding with me that night?

Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love

Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love

Without hesitation, he swiftly drove to the outskirts of town. The winter days were short, and the nights were long. Lucas made his way to the cemetery, a place that felt detached from the bustling city. The entire area was shrouded in a thick white fog and devoid of sunlight, casting a somber and gloomy atmosphere. He immediately spotted Joseph among the scattered new graves. In addition to Joseph, surrounding Chloe's grave were several men dressed in regalia engaged in a discussion about rituals and prayers. Their voices resonated through the quiet air, creating a solemn atmosphere.

In the beginning it reminds me of let me go mr. Hill but they are definitely different stories. Like different authors were given the same homework assignment. I hope this one isn’t as long but I’m on chapter 720 and nothing has been revealed. I hope it doesn’t drag on forever.
Yrsa Love
The story is so slow!!! Xavia and Noah are still not exposed, always getting away with their crimes!!! Author is just dragging the story forever.., it's so boring! After so many chapters No justice ever done for Chloe! Pathetic!!!

Though a Mirror Darkly

Though a Mirror Darkly

Given his nightmare this morning, he didn’t think he should miss that. He stood from the small table in his kitchen to gather his things. *** 5:00 AM Maybe it was the morning’s cloying dark, but Father Ward couldn’t suppress a slight shiver when he saw it at the intersection of Hollow and Beartown Road. A school bus. Idling at the corner. Its exterior lights blazing in the early morning dark. But the bus was pitch black inside. As he drove past, he couldn’t see anyone sitting behind the wheel. It was only five in the morning.

Grim Reaper's Bride

Grim Reaper's Bride

If I thought of nothing, I wouldn't think of him. We wove through downtown, past the developments and shopping centers, through the business sector and finally to the older edge of Redmont where Red Hill High slept atop its eponymous hill. The streets narrowed as we entered the historic area, buildings old-fashioned and picturesque. The bus wound up Riverstone Road to school, past the old Protestant church and its quaint graveyard behind crumbling brick walls. Stone angels bowed over in prayer, covered in molding leaves, and large monuments cracked with age. An angel of death ruffled its wings, shook the leaves off its head and glanced up at me. It winked.

Love Slave to the Mafia Boss's Passion

Love Slave to the Mafia Boss's Passion

Hayden said as he led me by the hand. We walked uphill a little bit through the grass before we arrived at what I suspect was our true destination for the night. Unlike the unkempt grassy area from before, the landscape in front of me seemed to be well maintained. The grass short and orderly and there were enough light on poles to properly illuminate the area. However, I never would have guessed that he would bring me to a place like this… A graveyard…and a very large one at that. “This graveyard belongs to my family. Well, the Torex family or if you would like ‘the gang’. Everyone from the gang who dies is buried here,” Hayden explained.

Author clarification: This book is predominantly a romance/steamy book. It is PURELY fiction. No characters, gang, or any setting is real. This book does not intend or desire to focus on the mafia setting but more on relationship development. The author does not intend to do any research on mafias.

I’m really enjoying this story. I just spent the last 4hours reading this book, it’s that good! Just when you think you have it figured out, there’s another twist in it. (My only complaint is, I wish the author would proof read it before hitting the send button. So many simple spelling errors.)

To the Bone

To the Bone

They’re the beginning of the end. Atlas walks to school with the others: headphones in, eyes down, heart closed. No one speaks. It’s easier that way. Along the route, he passes the old church. The graveyard behind it sprawls like a forgotten garden. Some of the gravestones are so worn, the names have eroded into nothing. People avoid the place—as if proximity to death might invite it. But Atlas sometimes cuts through. There’s a strange comfort in the honesty of the dead. They don’t pretend.

THE GRAVE OF GREY AND GOLD

THE GRAVE OF GREY AND GOLD

looking helpless as he lost the only thing that made him a god: his land. "You look like you're staring at a funeral," Silas rumbled, standing by the window. His silhouette appeared massive against the grey sky. "I am," I whispered. My voice was a dry rasp, like a dead leaf when crushed. "I'm watching the burial of the Crescent Alpha. I just didn't expect the scene to look so... boring, and ordinary…" My cough broke the silence, a deep, racking tremor that made my ribs feel like they were being snapped back one by one. I pressed a tissue to my mouth that quickly soaked in a dark, thick crimson. I didn't panic; that was for people who still had a future.

Divorced, Dazzling, and Desired

Divorced, Dazzling, and Desired

Zoran, seated in the first car, directed the way, and they soon left the tar road and proceeded up a craggy mud route. After driving for two or three hours, they finally arrived at Northwood Peak and saw that the outcrop was actually an unmarked graveyard. The convoy's headlights shone into the thin mist swirling through the graveyard, making it look all the more gloomy. There were some phosphorescent flames in the distance, and the entire place was an eerie sight. Jasper's eyes narrowed at the sight before him, and he couldn't help remembering all the times Renee almost got killed since meeting her.
