"Please tell me that was just the volcano settling." The rumble came again. Louder. Closer. From behind a ridge of black rock, a massive shape emerged. Scales like molten metal. Eyes that glowed orange. Wings that blocked out the sky when they spread. A dragon. Not the kind from fairy tales. The kind that actually lived in volcanic peaks and defended their territory with lethal force. "Lucas," Jax said carefully. "Tell me you have a plan for this." The dragon's eyes fixed on us. Big Boss is about to move while the woman positioned to run. Black Dragon spoke. “Move even an inch and I’ll blow your heads simultaneously.” His voice sounded cold and emotionless. I looked at him and was startled to see his face expressionless. He looked like a professional cold blooded killer. Big Boss and the woman froze. Black Dragon turned to the woman.

We soon reached a sleeping dragon, he was enormous. Dynaris approached the sleeping dragon, her footsteps echoing off the cavern walls. As she drew closer, the dragon's eyes flickered open, and he regarded her with a piercing gaze. Dynaris stood tall, her voice clear and steady. "I mean you no harm, noble dragon. I'm on a quest to reclaim the ancient dragon throne." The dragon's gaze narrowed, his voice low and rumbling. "Many have come before you, seeking to claim the throne. But few have succeeded. Are you prepared to face the trials that lie ahead?" Dynaris nodded, her determination evident. "I'm ready.”

Dude #2 yelled back suddenly. “Guys, we have no choice, we either do this or die when we go home, and if we run.. he’ll find us” dude#3 said. Unable to handle the truth of what awaits them, he started walking away from the other guys. ‘Sapphire, what are these guys?’ I asked my dragon, uncertain of their different scents. ‘That’s a delta dragon, gamma dragon and warrior dragon. That gamma dragon is the highest ranking one, deltas are like healers and warriors are obviously warriors,’ she laughed at me, making my fists clenched slightly.

Only the true dragons, those capable of drawing upon the world's deep currents and wielding genuine power, were the threat Draconox existed to contain. The sub-attribute breeds were, at most, a delicacy on Draconox's table. "So why would someone use a ritual like this to contact a dragon with no real power?" Oscar muttered, then shook his head. "Document everything. Then destroy the site. Sweep the entire city of Silverton. This is not the only ritual location."

“So you’re a dragon, too.” “I am.” She bit her lip, wanting to ask more about that but deciding against it. She wondered how he looked as a dragon. Was he like the big golden one she’d seen? Vikter was clearly a golden dragon, from what they’d said about eye color. Razzy’s eyes were purple. His were gold, and Drayken’s were red. It still weirded her out to think of his red eyes. It was so strange. She nodded and glanced up too.
