Scorched

Scorched

When he heard my sigh, he tightened his hold, almost pulling me into his embrace. This was the first time we were this close, and I immediately stiffened. He lowered his head, deliberately inhaling deeply to smell me. His warm breath brushed against my neck as he asked, "What kind of alcohol did you drink just now?" I wasn't very knowledgeable about drinks, so I thought for a moment before replying, "Red wine?" "Did it taste good?" Leon's voice came even closer, almost like a whisper in my ear. "I want to try it too, Estie."

BRINKS

BRINKS

Not once in the action of scourging Winston did he act as if he was human. Or should I say he was acting totally like a human… Laughing along as if it was amusing. The sound of this, the taunting cry that could break glass, the beating sounding as if he was an animal. I mean it’s not like he isn’t. Both the bearer and bat, it’s really sad, disgusting and scary. But in this case all I feel is gladness. His cries echoed to the mountains of the island and returned to him—telling him that no one was coming for him.

The Way of the Dragon

The Way of the Dragon

Soon enough, they quickly destroyed the now weaponized pieces of cloth. Bodrick did not flinch at this, he predicted it, and quickly took the opening distraction to attack Zephyr. He brought along his Skeletal Gale for this. One by one, skeletal claws came at Zephyr, sharp and nasty. Each of them had a dark, wicked aura, akin to the billowing wind. It was a terrible sight. Zephyr flinched at the sight of it. “Thunderfoot!” he cried out, disappearing in a flash. “No!” Bodrick exclaimed, unexpecting of Zephyr’s godly speed. He quickly sent his attack to intercept but was instead met with sharp pain.

KIDNAPPED TO VEGAS (A Spicy Badboy Romance)

KIDNAPPED TO VEGAS (A Spicy Badboy Romance)

It looks incredibly amazing, but it feels peaceful because there ain't a single soul around us for miles. Cairo walks us past the pool and stops in front of a beautiful, white horse that's already saddled up and waiting by the fence. "This is Breeze. He's an Andalusian. Strong legs, smooth stride, and he can run faster than anything you've seen if you let him out." "Wait. Did you say 'he'? I thought all pretty white horses in movies were females." "Yeah, the exact same way you thought you were gonna ride alone today. You've got a lot to learn, sweetheart."

Rejected Omega, claimed by the Ruthless Alpha

Rejected Omega, claimed by the Ruthless Alpha

*** Redpine’s scent hit us before the smoke did. We rode hard, the wind knifing past my ears, the steady thunder of hooves under us. Kael rode at the front, posture low over his horse’s neck, eyes fixed on the ridge ahead. I rode a little behind and to his left, flanked by Talia on one side and a grim‑faced warrior named Bran on the other.

The Alpha King's Plus Size Substitute Bride

The Alpha King's Plus Size Substitute Bride

Vira's POV The icy mountains breeze was biting into my exposed cheeks as the heavy wooden portcullis ground upward. Kaelen handed me the leather reins of a massive, dark gray warhorse. Attached to the left side of the high leather saddle was a heavy iron sheath housing a short, broad Northern blade. My fingers wrapped around the dark leather hilt, the cold iron biting through my riding gloves, giving me a sudden, fierce sense of purpose. "Can you ride a Northern stallion, My Lady?" Kaelen demanded over the roaring gale, his broad face tight with stress as he swung his heavy frame up onto his own black mount.

By Order of the King

By Order of the King

Skye had a change of heart two minutes later and quickly ran, hoping to catch up with them. Entering the stable, she saw them and stopped short. They were saddling the horses and chatting in low voices. Skye inhaled a sweet, grassy aroma mixed with the scent of leather from the saddles and bridles. She took a deep breath, enjoying the freshness of the air. It might have been the first time she had experienced such a clean and refreshing smell in a stable.

The Search for the Crystal Key (Book 2 of Dark Escape Duo)

The Search for the Crystal Key (Book 2 of Dark Escape Duo)

He looked back at the mare and sighed, “On my horse, I think.” With Brandon’s assistance, Bog struggled onto the back of the reluctant gelding. Brandon did his best to reassure the horses and calm them until they had grown more accustomed to Bog’s scent before leaping onto Fiona’s mare and spurring it into action. Bog expressed his dismay over his inability to ride well, resulting in Brandon grabbing the reins of his enormous gelding and pulling it behind Fiona’s mare. He hoped with all his might that the powerful gelding would restrain from barreling over the top of his less muscular mount.

Rejected by the Alpha, Crowned by the Lycan King

Rejected by the Alpha, Crowned by the Lycan King

Witness marks burned at the bottom of the challenge parchment. Briar Glen. Brackenhold. Graymere. Ashvale. Human testimony. Wolf law. Old memory. A braid, not a crown. I folded the parchment carefully. Then the bond flared. Cassian. Sharp. Warning. I looked east. Dark birds shot up from the distant trees. Sera saw them too. “Riders.” Oren turned. “How many?” A Brackenhold scout slid down the ridge. “Thorncrest patrol. Ten. Maybe more behind.”
