With a few simple strokes, she had captured his facial features precisely. The eyes bore a significant resemblance to his eyes, allowing others to recognize him in the drawing.

Coco was stretched on the rug, lazily chewing on a bone while his tail thumped on the floor. Zagaff swirled the whiskey in his glass, lost in his own thoughts. His voice was softer than usual when he spoke. “You know, Coco…” he leaned forward, elbows on his knees, “I finally had her. Sylvania.” A soft smile tugged at the corner of his lips, but it wasn’t the smile of someone satisfied; it was the smile of someone hungry for more. “But it’s not enough.
