The next few hours were a blur of boxes, lights, and questionable music choices. Donna insisted on Christmas songs. I insisted on pretending I hated them. Ostara insisted on rearranging every ornament Donna put up. Donna insisted on rearranging it back.
At one point, I caught Ostara standing by the window, looking out at the street, her expression soft and faraway.
“Everything okay?” I asked, coming up behind her, sliding an arm around her waist.
