The sound of splintering wood echoed in the silence that followed. Picture frames crashed, shattering glass scattering across the floor like glittering shards of her delusions.

She stood there, with her smug face as though she had been the owner of the cafeteria, and she was holding her drink. Her two friends Maya and Jenna were behind her like the backup dancers. "Cassandra," I said flatly. The woman threw her head back smiling that fake-ass smile. I did not think you were going to come this early. After all that had occured... I believed you would be too much ashamed to show your face."
