The books around them began to rustle. The silver glow beneath Laura’s skin strengthened and Lyralei’s mark responded with a pulse of heat. The open books on the table started shifting without either of them touching them. Pages turned by themselves. Loose notes slid across the wood. The storm outside the windows froze even harder mid-flash. A journal near Laura’s hand opened on its own but before either of them could read it the room darkened and pulled them somewhere else. The room reformed around them and Lyralei realized they were standing inside the real version of Nikolai’s library now.

I spent an hour browsing the upper shelves, pulling down thick volumes of poetry and fictional works. By the time I was finished, I had a stack of four heavy books cradled in my arms, piled high enough that I had to tilt my head to see over them. I turned the corner of a tall mahogany shelf, my mind debating what book to begin with, when I walked straight into something. "Oh!" The books slipped. I scrambled to catch them, my fingers fumbling against the leather bindings, but they were too heavy. I braced for the sound of them hitting the floor, but a pair of tan, steady hands caught the top three before they could slide.

he reminded me, voice rough. He pushed in slowly, inch by inch. I gasped softly, biting my arm to stay silent. He felt huge like this, stretching me open while we stood in the middle of the library. Once he was fully inside, he stayed still for a moment, letting me adjust. His chest pressed against my back. One hand covered my mouth gently while the other held my hip. Then he started moving. Slow, deep thrusts. Careful. Controlled. Every stroke was deliberate, making sure our bodies didn’t make too much noise. The bookshelves creaked faintly with each push. I pushed back against him, wanting more.

And at this time, Ming Ruyou. She was sitting on an ancient wooden stool with an elegant posture, quietly flipping through a book. That book scroll's entire body released strands of sparkling luster. One could tell at a glance that it was an ordinary item. In reality, after so many years, before it could corrode away, one could already tell that these books were definitely not simple. At this moment, Ming Ruyou seemed to be very absorbed in reading. She frowned slightly and slowly flipped through pages of books.

I ask hoping that was the case so I can grab one that's near the check stand of all the reserved books for their customers. I was starting to feel self-conscious of myself as I caught the woman still looking but shook it off as I had to work. "Yes it's under the name of Kennedy smith” she replies. I nodded and looked up the name, once got to the checkout stand, finding it rather quickly then did the whole check out process for reserved books before putting in a bag for her.

Olivia would faint more than once if she could see this right now. I slowly walk between shelves, running my hands across the dark brown, sturdy wood that holds the books, feeling its smooth lamination. Every corner is perfectly labeled, so whoever is in here can easily find what they need. Whoever maintains a place like this definitely knows what they're doing. I stop, curious, at an aisle and reach for a first edition book on "The Technicalities of Wolf Shifting." I have no interest in it, but the vibe in the room prompts me to pick it up.

my voice was barely above a whisper. The ticking of the clock and the shuffling of feet was the only response I got, eliciting an unnerving sigh from me. I skidded quickly away from the aisle and finally found the books that brought me in here. All the Beautiful Things series bore an identical cover where the dominant colour on the book cover was black. I picked the book, Screech, beside it and threw it on the pile in my hands, making my way forward.

The ladies all giggle and Julie stands, handing a new bookmark to each of us. "Yes. We figured we'd get you ones that suited you a little better." she says. The new one is dark blue with gold lettering that says 'Real men read dirty books'. I smile and look over at Ev who's showing Harper his excitedly. "These are great. Thank you." I say just as Bri nudges me. "Oh! Tell them your joke, love!" Harper says excitedly. Ev rolls his eyes before addressing the group.

My fingers hovered over the door, something was urging me to push the door and uncover the secrets that laid inside. I pushed it open, the door was warm underneath my palm. Inside, the room lit my levitating glowing orbs. Shelves lined the walls, they were filled with ancient scrolls, books and artifacts. The dust that has accumulated on that showed that they haven't been touched in a while, centuries maybe. The smell of old books and leather filled the air, it was soothing. I walked further into the room, my eyes scanning the titles on the spine of the books on the shelves. Most of them were in a foreign language and something in me told me that it wasn't time for me to know about them. How

Melinda's and Kieran's sharp, piercing eyes, scanned the endless rows of books. Zora led them around the library, pointing out the different sections and genres. There were books on philosophy, science, art, and history, each one meticulously cataloged and arranged on the shelves. The titles were written in elegant calligraphy, and the bindings were richly adorned with gold leaf and embossed lettering. Kieran and Melinda were overwhelmed by the sheer size of the collection, and they couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer amount of knowledge that was contained within these walls.
