Scanning quickly at the rows of book, she swiftly read the book tittle from the top of shelf and down. Her scanning eyes halted at odd arrange of books at the top shelf. She dragged a ladder from the edge of the shelves. Climbing up, she pulled a book that stick out unlike the other books on the shelf, arranged neatly. A white envelope flew down as the same time she pulled the book out of the shelf. The envelope landed on the floor silently. Irina gazed down, she could guess it right away. She then pushed back the book in to the empty shelf and jumped down with a loud landed of her feet on the floor.

I commanded, my voice echoing with a resonance that was not entirely my own. ​The iron bolts groaned, a sound like a giant waking from a long slumber. The door swung open slowly, revealing a chamber filled with a soft, ethereal glow. Thousands of scrolls were tucked into honeycomb shelves that reached into the darkness above, and in the center stood a pedestal made of pure obsidian. On it sat the book, bound in skin that shimmered like a raven’s wing. ​"The Book of Shadows," Lila whispered, her torch flickering as if the room itself were trying to snuff it out. "It actually exists."

“Start with the scrolls. Group them by symbol. Don’t touch the red-sealed ones.” I frowned. “Why not?” “Because they bite,” she deadpanned. I wasn’t sure if she was joking. I set to work, rolling and stacking, trying to let the repetitive motion smooth out the edge of my thoughts. The scent of thyme and old ink curled through the air. The room reformed around them and Lyralei realized they were standing inside the real version of Nikolai’s library now.

I spent an hour browsing the upper shelves, pulling down thick volumes of poetry and fictional works. By the time I was finished, I had a stack of four heavy books cradled in my arms, piled high enough that I had to tilt my head to see over them. I turned the corner of a tall mahogany shelf, my mind debating what book to begin with, when I walked straight into something. "Oh!" The books slipped. I scrambled to catch them, my fingers fumbling against the leather bindings, but they were too heavy. I braced for the sound of them hitting the floor, but a pair of tan, steady hands caught the top three before they could slide.

Slow, deep thrusts. Careful. Controlled. Every stroke was deliberate, making sure our bodies didn’t make too much noise. The bookshelves creaked faintly with each push. I ask the woman, she was only about five feet tall, with brown long hair and brown eyes. "Hello, I'm here for the new werewolf story" she says looking at me, I tried my best to hide under my own overgrown bangs.
